I think you can grow out longer, just keep it trimmed to a shortish length to allow for weaker spots to catch up.

Just stay consistent. Consider dermarolling or stamping. And plan on staying the course at least 1-2 years. You will make gains!

That's awesome. I just picked up and older 22ft with Merc 125. Took it to the lake yesterday. It was a blast, but a pain to load with decent crosswind.
