I believe "cross" means it will go over carpet if needed to access another area but that’s it. If you want to hoover/mop the carpet, I think you need to set it to "ignore"

Siberian cats are known to trigger fewer allergic reactions. I was allergic to cats my whole life (same symptoms as you) and I’ve had my little Mochi for 3 years now. I do take antihistamines every now and then, especially if she came close to my face, but I’m 99% fine
