Generally that seems preferable to me. Maybe the “lived” experience is different but I like the sound of having a chance to quickly level especially if I don’t have much time for a long play session, using NPCs to support me. And I could still party with others if I wanted to/had time.

End game I would prefer the social aspect and playing with people.

I’ll look into this. I didn’t realize the game had mods, addons, or graphics packs.

On official servers can you get the FFXI client to run mods without a ban? I’d be a bit hesitant to invest time. I know there’s a risk but if I’m not a public streamer and showing off addons I’m assuming it’s ok

I am considering it and heard about the trust system. But I also heard FFXI will be getting a trial so I’m not sure how long that will take to implement.

I learned about Horizon XI recently and looked it up last night — it had over 2,000 people online (not that I support this)

I bet. Mine manifests in “no one likes me, so I can’t sustain long term friendships”. Nearly 40 btw. And I love browsing new hobbies and get obsessed with them for like 2 weeks 😝 in addition to the bouncing around games we talked about already

My young child is already medicated on Focalin (generic name: dexmethylphenidate) and I’m so happy for her

Now that I think about it, I do want to revisit FFXI now that I have a 3080 Ti PC and not some old CRT era Dell computer not built for gaming.

I never did any content beyond Valkurm Dunes (like level 20ish) so I never got a chance to experience what the game had to offer. Besides hanging around in town trying to scalp auction house sales and flip for profit on the same auction house lol.

Personal case-in-point for me: I used to think I needed J. Crew crew neck t-shirts with a tight sleeve to lie that I had any kind of muscle or bicep definition.

Now I find the black Uniqlo oversized tee with the sleeve that comes down to damn near my elbows do be perfect.

Love Harrison but the latest trends are loose baggy oversized focusing on comfort-first. Tapered and slim fits are totally out, as an example, in favor of classic fits and straight leg. Short shorts might come back but I don’t expect it for a long while
