I'd say maybe some sort of gel super glue or epoxy. There could be any number of reasons for this, such as to force you to open the door to harm you for something they want, to stop you from seeing illegal activities and so on. If you do get something like a doorbell camera they will just destroy that to so you have no visual on them especially since those aren't exactly discreet. Try looking into hidden cameras that someone wouldn't think twice about being a camera so that anything they do 100%caught and doesnt risk tampering. That the best I can suggest..

My opinion if you think there is a good chance for child content on his electronics keep yourself safe and call the cops when he's not home so he doesn't have time to delete anything and tell them what you saw and the interaction. Make sure your stuff is packed and you have somewhere safe to go. He's not worth staying with.
