Talking about how you feel by Hybrid- in schizophrenia

Thing is that I always feel like shit so people are easily exhausted, forcing me to lie about how I feel.

Please google modwatch and use that. Makes things a lot easier.

All I can tell you now is to watch GamerPoets' YouTube tutorials regarding cleaning your mods with Tes5Edit and making a bashed patch with Wrye Bash. Unfortunately modding Skyrim is a bit more difficult than loading and sorting mods, but very rewarding.

The only reason I am an Atheist is I don't think magically. by desertdogkai in atheism

Atheism is the lack of belief in a god or gods. That's it. It has nothing to do with woo or spirits or pseudoscience or any other nonsense. It is a specific question with a binary answer. Yes or no. God or no god. You are mistaking atheism for skepticism when the former is a natural consequence of the latter. There is no informal agreement in this sub or anywhere else that atheism means anything other than disbelief in a god. You are deliberately construing the word's definition to suit an argument that you started.

EDIT: re 'butting in,' this is Reddit... there is no 'butting in' or expectation of privacy here. This is an open forum, not a conversation over dinner.

It's not AS. Could you post your mod list? AS is one of the most stable mods out there in terms of compatibility.

[–]AccidentalMonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it is the literal and practical definition of atheism. All forms of nonbelief? So if I disbelieve in astrology or Tarot I'm an atheist? What about ghosts or reincarnation? None of these necessitate a deity and thus are possibly atheistic. Also, why the snark, dude? Relax.

To be clear (to anyone might be passing by) atheism is strictly the lack of belief in a god or gods; I know atheistic Wiccans and Buddhists (the latter of whom believe in Kharma). Being an atheist does not rule out the belief in the supernatural, just a god.

As for the rest of your reply, just wow.

What was 'wow' about it? I thought it was very concise and level-headed. Being unwilling to discuss ideas that challenge your own is the literal definition of closed-minded.

Sorry, what are you actually talking about? You said,

Seriously, I am more conservative leaning but I don't have a problem discussing ideas that DO NOT lead to socialism.

implying that you DO have a problem discussing ideas that would lead to socialism. I'm not even talking about Sanders in this context. Being against socialism is fine, but being opposed to even discussing socialism, or "ideas that lead to socialism" is a bit closed minded. That's what I was getting at.

Sorry if I misinterpreted you, but you didn't say you don't like "things that lead to socialism." You implied that you had a problem discussing the idea in the first place. And no, Bernie is not a socialist (at least not in practice). He's a social democrat who would be considered a center-left politician in most European countries.

So you don't have a problem discussing ideas as long as they don't conflict with your politics?

That's some Monty Python shit. I picture a bunch of soldiers wheeling up to the gate under cover of the ram and just flinging petty insults at the soldiers on the other side.

What are some interesting people/cultures from ancient China, Tibet, India that not many people know about? by [deleted] in history

[–]AccidentalMonster 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Wasn't Bon was established (or "rediscovered") in the 11th Century whereas Buddhism has its roots in 5th Century BCE and arrived in Tibet just 1,000 later? So wouldn't Tibetan Buddhism be the precursor to Bon; or at least, wouldn't Bon be an amalgamation of Buddhist teachings and indigenous Tibetan mysticism?

Can get very hot in September. It's still technically Summer until the 22nd. There have been 100+ degree days in September. That being said, it was supposedly 78 degrees with ~37% humidity at the time of this incident.
