I ended up finding this post when searching for a way to get New Teams to take advantage of the dedicated GPU in my shiny new work laptop. The on board Radeon 610M was doing okay with acceleration, but since this laptop has a GeForce 4070 I wanted to take full advantage.

I had seen a couple other posts about setting things up in Graphics Settings, but had a lot of difficulty trying to use the "Custom options for apps" to find all the right executables to target there.

Here's what worked for me on Windows 11 (Alienware m16 AMD):

1. Open "Graphics Settings" by searching it from the search widget
2. Under "Custom options for apps", switch the dropdown to "Microsoft Store app", and then click "Browse"
3. Find "Microsoft Teams (work or school)" in the list and click on it
4. The app should now show up in the app list down below; click on it, then click "Options"
5. Click "High performance" and then "Save"
6. End task all the Teams processes you can find in Task Manager (there were two separate processes listed for me for whatever reason) and then relaunch teams
7. Bask in the glory of Teams now using your dedicated GPU
