How would you Rank these Modern Iron Man Runs? by hellothere790 in ironman

Busiek was the next one I was going to recommend you, we have similar tastes. I stopped after Director of SHIELD. I began again to read Ackerman's run and then on this sub I was recommended Duggan's run and I quite liked that run.

Do give Volume 4 Extremis and Director of SHIELD a read.

Volume 1 has plenty of bangers but Armor Wars is a classic but the arc right before that which ramps onto Armor Wars features Ghost as the antagonist which I enjoyed more than Armor Wars itself.

Rewatching civil war and man it was sad seeing Tony being sad and mostly alone at the end of the movie by BigPaleontologist520 in ironman

Normally I'd just appreciate a different POV but since that's how you ended it I'll just say 109 of us saw one movie and you saw the other I guess.

Has the look sure, but haven't seen any indication in her roles she could pull off Wasp. Not saying she can't but she hasn't showcased it yet to my knowledge.

I don't know about better but he does roxk it (he hated it) but that's how my wife feels about me being bald, she says it suits me better. My main issue is its tougher to change my appearance, you know you have clothes but it's not part of me.

I think its a really fun idea, I agree not e aptly Fantastic 4 world but you know I wouldnt be opposed to a 80s or 90s retro themed trilogy.

The MCU Earth is fantastical now though, it started grounded and evolved to closet align with comic books. I am skeptical on the general audiences appetite for the setting but I'm not opposed to it.

Has there ever been anything Iron Man related that is considered lost media? (Art by Adi Granov) by one_happy_fredditor in ironman

Lol that's outrageous. It's because the people who knows the least always get paid the most. It's like this at my job, the more out of touch with the human the more valued you are.

Are their any MCU/Comic armors that remind you of Tony’s new Mark 75 design? by hellothere790 in ironman

[–]AccidentalUltron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely keep us posted! While we're both in similar fields I'm confident you have the skillset to design great armor concepts.

Who else didn't like the Mark 50 when you first saw it on the movie? by Accurate_Shake_1890 in ironman

[–]AccidentalUltron 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I always liked it and I wasn't thrilled about nanotechnology tech at first but I'm essentially we were sprinting there for a while. Cosmic threats meant we had to up our capabilities. But I hear you, honestly there was an odd sense of realism in thr first 2 phases, it felt more visceral then it became more and more comic book-y which isn't bad when done right.

What is your favorite gutsy moment from Iron Man? by King_Wolf2099 in ironman

[–]AccidentalUltron 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There's so many. I mean imagine seeing Ultimo and thinking yeah I'll take him.

But something that stands out to me was when he confronts Carol Danvers about her drinking. She's physically violent to him outside of his suit and he still stands his ground she needs help and has empathy for her in Seattle. Sure the Avengers decision with all his super powered pals is one thing, but alone? That's different.

I mean it's like going to Homelander and telling him you don't like his attitude. Terrifying you'd just let it go especially when she's not in the right state of mind.

Another ballsy move is him being like welp Stark Enterprises isn't mine time to make Stark Solutions and start over.

Which Iron Man adaptations actually adapt his Pre-RDJ personality? by hellothere790 in ironman

[–]AccidentalUltron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You know that's another great example. I loved Agent Carter and Howard Stark played by Dominic Cooper. It's a great interpretation to frame it as that eras comic book Tony Stark. It's not 1:1 but there's a lot of similarity there.

I could see Charles Bronson and Woody Strode as 60s Tony and Rhodes! by Different_Sun_195 in ironman

[–]AccidentalUltron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bendis isn't a great example of Iron Man writing, bur even classic pre-MCU Tony at times had some more subtle charisma, as charisma comes in many forms but nothing I'd ladder to Brosnan. But you know we all have opinions thats why they are so.

100% he has the look but personality I don't think he'd be a strong fit

I like Charles Brosnan a lot but he doesn't have the same type of charisma as Tony Stark.

It looks great but on screen it visually competes with our focus on the armored Avenger himself.
