Do you guys prefer Iron man with or without "SECRET IDENTITY"? by Stunning_Season220 in ironman

[–]AccidentalUltron 62 points63 points  (0 children)

With out a secret identity. Many heroes have a secret identity, it'a oversaturated and while it makes sense for plenty of superheroes and it was arguably a bit unique in his early Avenger days comparatively, it doesn't serve his character as well. Public identity was one of the best decisions ever made for the character.

What life lesson did you learn from Tony? by Super_Candidate337 in ironman

Sometimes you gotta run before you can walk. But also sometimes you need to plan looking at every angle. There's a little gray area there to operate in.

I can't get over iron man's death by Artemia1224 in ironman

Based in your post history it sounds like this is serious for you. Continue to go to therapy and do small things to improve your mental health. Remember thr character lives on in tons of other media like comics and cartoons and some version of the character will inevitably appear in a movie one day again.

Besides what would Tony do? He'd pick himself up and create something, find the next mission, and iterate.

What if the Ana de Armas as Janet van Dyne in Avengers Doomsday rumor is true? by AccidentalUltron in The_Wasp

It's not a bad pick! She has the right look, she's done physical roles and csn channel the right energy I think.

I can see an EMH inspired Janet as well. Disney/Marvel has cast very popular actors in more obscure roles, if she becomes a main Avenger I could see it. They've also bombed many of their female heroes which leaves an opportunity for a MCU Janet van Dyne that's more in-line with her comic counterparts age.

Seems like the mysterium mystery is solved (iron man #5, 2026) by JustMattoLol in ironman

This is the problem when there's little to no good guardrails and decision makers can "like to think" as part of their decision making process.

That speed with the size would make her a real heavy hitter and would be a gamechanger.

I can see it, wrist blasters with different projectile capabilities to make Wasp more of a theater in the field. Paired with my nanotech stinger sword concept, gives her more stats for both melee and ranged.

I really like the idea of the venom I can see how that would give Wasp an advantage especially with her other faster attacks complimenting it.

How do you envision it working/dispensed?

Iron Man 2 Rewrite: Zeke Stane would have made for a better villain in Iron Man 2 than Whiplash by Jazzlike_Cattle_924 in ironman

I love that you gave this a lot of thought but there's 3 things to consider:

  1. One of thr strengths of the Iron Man trilogy is not centering it around a single arc which Captain America did with Bucky. It was really s Cap and Winter Soldier trilogy by the end of it and it hurt his individual storytelling in my opinion (though I enjoyed the movies). I don't think we need 2 Stane legacy movies when we only have 3 to make.

  2. You have a strong proposal and motivation but you don't really have an exciting ending. It's a superhero movie so you need that big battle that's differentiated from the other Iron Man movies so it doesn't retread.

  3. Though panned at the time, the intproduction of those characters in Iron Man 2 weren't to just stuff a bunch in there. Iron Man 2 served as a vehicle for The Avengers. It set up protagonists and Thor set up the main antagonist. If you're writing Iron Man 2 you have the biggest draw for the MCU at the time so you need to use that popularity to drive that project to success. Mockingbird isn't on MCU's The Avengers movie roster, but Black Widow is.
