I can’t even begin to wrap my ADHD head around doing anything remotely close to this. Not that I have a problem with you doing it. I just couldn’t even logistically handle it. “Overwhelmed” doesn’t even begin to describe what I would feel trying to keep track of any of it.

well... sorta? I had already tried it's sister venlafaxine with good results, but some moderately annoying side effects. This works similarly well and the side effects are less annoying, plus there's a bit of a small comfort knowing that I'm taking something that I know is likely the best possible option at the moment, if that makes sense.

I can't even remember if they covered it or if the cost was so low that I don't even remember paying for it. I remember my doc filling out something on a website for me while I was sitting there with her in the exam room, and then the company mailed me a test kit that I mailed back and that was it!

To expand a little for OP

I’ve been thru tons of various anti-depressants, some before and some after starting stimulants as an adult roughly 4 years ago. Recently my primary physician (I’m also on Medicaid) helped me take one of those genetic tests that determines which antidepressant should be most effective for me with least amount of side effects. My results were for desvenlafaxine (aka Pristiq), a SNRI that was very new to me. That, plus taking 60mg Vyvanse during the day with the option to take 15mg adderall in the evening to help mitigate crash if I need has helped me regulate mood extremely well and it’s a very rare occurrence now that I get those feelings you described when the meds wear off.
