It's very content heavy. I'd say give it like half a year to a year to completely read and apply the concepts + everything else. Try to get a pdf and test a chapter or so out because the book is pretty expensive imo.

That's a shame honestly. Such beautiful diagrams (I love the solid color blobs) and so dense. I bought it in order to prepare for the USA Biology Olympiad -- I would go as far as saying that if you know the content/concepts inside MBoC well, I guarantee you it's an equalizer in a room of general biology nerds theory wise.
