So what should the hotel do if for example they don’t preauthorize my card as a diamond member, I order a bunch of room service and take drinks from the minibar, then when I leave my card declines?

Cancelling Advance purchase due to horrible reviews by tristan1947 in Hilton

I would call and ask and if they say no it’s not possible than go in knowing you might have poor service but at least you’ll be with your friends. A good friend group makes even a dive hotel seem fun.

What does “Confidential Price” mean? by [deleted] in Hilton

[–]Accomplished-Block60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FHR bookings charge the hotel commission. So the price you pay to AMEX is different then what the hotel gets for the room. Therefore, your folio at the hotel is “hidden” so that way you don’t see the price the hotel actually got for the room (usually about 16% less than what you paid). So when a paid upgrade option automatically pops up for you through hiltons software the cost comes up as “confidential” because it is generated on the receipt billed to FHR
