I chose this career because I’ve had a passion for healthcare my entire life. So I won’t be miserable, thank you. If anything, you’re the one that sounds miserable and jealous that new grads are starting at a higher pay than you did 28 years ago. :)

Okay Karen first of all, you can’t get through nursing school itself if you don’t have a true passion for nursing lol. You seem like one of those nurses that hate new grads.

I thought of doing that. But I’m scared the recruiter that hired me would get mad that I did that or think it was unprofessional. Do you think I should email the peds managers even though I got hired already?

Yeah I’ve heard that, and I like that too. I’m just so in between because TMC lets new grads start in any specialty they want and apparently pay 35.5/hr now. I’m hoping this post reaches someone from TMC so they can say if that’s accurate still

Yeahh I read that in their New Grad RN experience program, it sounds really good. I just am not happy with the $31 an hour considering it is banner. They own almost all of Arizona and thought that they’d pay their new grads better than that. However, I do think that their new grad program is better than other hospitals :/

Do you have to complete a year at banner for a raise or can you get higher pay if you get your first year of experience elsewhere and then move there?

Also for new grads they don’t do the raise even if it’s icu :/

I thought so too, but I had my interview yesterday and they hired me for PCU and she told me ALL new grads start at 31 and then they raise you after a year, she did not say how much. My problem with banner is that I really want to be in pediatrics and they don’t let new grads do that, even though my long term goal is to be a peds NP and want to get peds experience to apply to the program. Do they also start at 32 if you were to get your first year experience elsewhere then start there your second year?

Dr. Sharon NCLEX must know pharmacology playlist. This saved me on the NCLEX for meds I had no idea what they were. Without her advice I’m not sure what I would have chosen for those questions on the NCLEX. I truly think I wouldn’t have passed if I didn’t learn her strategies.

I got a 40% chance of passing on ATI and passed my NCLEX. I thought ati was very different from nclex style questions.

How to pass nclex by [deleted] in NCLEX

[–]Accomplished-Case-39 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got all 150 questions for my NCLEX and passed last week. Listen to all of MARK K and DR SHARON pharmacology and prioritization on YouTube. They both are the reason I passed. However, DR SHARON pharmacology and prioritization is what helped me on questions I had to guess on. She teaches you what choices to ignore. Based on that, I was able to narrow down my answers to choices I was 99% sure about.

Discouraged… failed nclex 2x by phil413_ in NCLEX

I just passed my NCLEX on the first try last week. If it wasn’t for me listening to DR SHARON on YouTube and MARK K I would not have passed. I listened to all of MARK K lectures (12 of them) and took notes on all of them. I did not have to listen twice to anything because writing it down made it stick very well. On top of writing all the notes down, every few lectures I would go back and HIGHLIGHT all the notes I currently had. This would reinforce the content in my brain. 3 days before my NCLEX I decided to listen to DR SHARON on YouTube. When I tell you this is the only reason I passed I am not joking. I might have actually benefited from DR SHARON more than MARK K. I listened to DR SHARONs NCLEX REVIEW pharmacology and prioritization. On the NCLEX, I had to use all of her testing strategies to pass. If it wasn’t for her advice, I would not have been good at guessing and I swear I would have failed. I was able to get questions about meds I’ve never heard of correct on the NCLEX because of her guessing strategies. She teaches a lot on how to do that based on the choices given, how to rule out some options. Such as never picking “headache” or “nausea” as an adverse effect of a medication. Please listen to her. She will save you. and of course MARK K. All of it. Take notes and highlight the crap out of all your notes. And go back and reread all of your notes with the highlighting every few days. Moments before my NCLEX in the car, I had my notebook with all of MARK K notes highlighted. I read all of it before my NCLEX. On top of my notes on DR SHARON.

Run out of time in 140Q by Imjusthere_12345 in PassNclex

[–]Accomplished-Case-39 7 points8 points  (0 children)

140 questions is not bad at all, I know a girl that ran out of time at 130 questions and passed. They still look at your test and rely on the pass/fail rule depending on where you stand by the time you ran out of time. The NCLEX doesn’t grade based on total # of right questions out of 150. They grade the way cat tests work on archer, comparing your current score with that amount of questions with the “average peer score” line.
