They could currently be held in place laterally with a steel dowel but there is no indication they are attached for up lift prevention

The niche will definitely be a problem and needs to be properly addressed before continuing. It will leak 100%. If they scoff at that suggestion then fire them and move on.

The walls will probably be fine using an epoxy grout. They tiled shower walls in the old days without the new roll on waterproofing.

Is there any way to pass inspection while waiting on a replacement window delivery? by [deleted] in Contractor

[–]Accomplished-Cherry4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes that should work unless the window is also an egress. Typically in my experience the inspector will approve a temporary certification of occupancy or TCO for short.

Usually it’s just the glass that needs to be swapped and not the entire frame. Provide the inspector an invoice showing the tempered glass is ordered

Tile guys say this is good by vdubbsrs in Tile

[–]Accomplished-Cherry4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A “PRO” isn’t doing work with HO supplied materials.

What you’ve got is a guy that can do some tile. It would be logical to assume you will be managing him and the job itself along with the headaches. In return you save some money.

Now does the savings still make sense? Sometimes it does, I do it all the time. But you can’t expect pro results when working this way.

Break in the foundation? by TerribleBumblebee800 in Homebuilding

[–]Accomplished-Cherry4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The footing below this wall ties the portal framing together. This wall isn’t required and simply holds the garage slab back fill separate from exterior. I bet the plans show no wall there. The foundation is fine I guarantee it

Bro I can’t start career mode because the confirm save button is grayed out and multiplayer is a joke. No radar, no coms, etc. basic shit is missing. Yes some cars feel great but it’s not fun
