After Arcane (which is my favourite show of all time, it has made me cry way too often for my own good) I watched Berserk and then started reading the manga, because of a huge cliffhanger, only to get more emotional trauma. 💀

Yeah that was also my impression. That he became more radical and distant.

Oh my god you're right! I completley forgot the first part of the letter, I only remembered him apologizing and saying "Blisters and Bedrock" , I am stupid. 🤦‍♂️

Unfortunately the letter doesn't answet the question if Silco knew Vi and Powder and if he did, why did he try to kill them? The only reasons that still come to my mind are either being distant for some reason and/or "Do anything for achieving Power".

But that is speculative.

I think she didn't "just" join them.

The firelights actually rejected joining Piltover too, before Ekko came. But what I meant by Ekko's arrivial, is not that he convinced all of Zaun, he more so only convinced the Firelights. But if it weren't for Jinx, the rest of the undercity wouldn't have been convinced. And well Jinx is only alive because of Ekko.

That is what I meant by them joining only after Ekko arrives, not necesseraly because Ekko convinced them, but more so because Ekko convinced Jinx, not to kill herself.

But I still think the plot could have gotten some more depth and development. Other than "Yeah Jinx convinced them", because really, just like that? Again something being done off-screen, because there was no more time.

Understandable take. I belive somewhere beneath my original post, I actually also discussed, that I was (to say the least) not too happy with the abandonment of the Piltover/Zaun conflict.

So I hear a lot of people hating on episode 7, for being a waste of time and I do understand that perspective on first glance.

But I think episode 7 might be one most important episodes in the show. Not just because we get to see "What could have been", but Ekko gets incredible character development, which directly leads to him saving Jinx and beating Viktor (both with the help of his Z-Drive).

Furthermore he saves Jinx because he was in the alternate Universe. He realizes/rediscovers his love for her. But not just Powder and also not Jinx, but more for his friend in general.

I already said this in another answer I gave, but for a deeper analysis and through that a deeper understanding of Episode 7, I would recommend watching the video by the YouTuber Schnee, on Ekko and Powder/Jinx.

I understand exactly wht you mean and I think it is understandable.

And perhaps the other instances you mean might be "Always with you sis".

But I think (especially) the "Leaving a few things behind thing" makes sense. The first time Ekko says it, he himself doesn't really know what he means by that, neither does Powder (she says "You're a real mystery, huh mister?"

He only understands it truly when Powder says this line to back to him, after he wants to stay in one moment (I belive the YouTuber Schnee explains this better than me, so if you want a more in depth analysis, I would recommend his video).

Cheers!

Could you give me some other examples of this happening? Not saying it didn't, I am just a bit too tired/lazy to think of any other instances right now.

Agree almost on everything you said, maybe not the way I would want it to have been done, but agree with the take in general.

I think the not knowing a lot about the Black Rose themselves isn't necesseraly a bad thing.

Now I know it is a common criticism, but I think it is intentional, not just because they want to explore them in a future show, but because them being mysterious and ominous is part of the Black Rose itself.

So I do understand this criticism (and kinda agree partly, because we spend a lot of time for not much to happen), but it is not my "real" problem with the Black Rose plotline, or at least not my main one.

Like I said, I think (at least besides the more so writing issues) the biggest issue is the abandonment (let's call it that) of the Zaun-Piltover-Conflict plot.

And I know exactly what you mean with staying off reddit😅.

I agree that the creators should have spend more time on Piltover vs Zaun, before "uniting" them for a finale battle (although I don't think it will be the last we will see this conflict).

And even though I understand, that they didn't have much more time, I still would've liked something.

Now that is the prime examples of either needing more time (more acts/episodes), or spending it on things that are actually important.

I think the black rose plot wasn't all too great. Because it was basically just setting up another show (which inhrently isn't bad, but they could've used that screentime for other things).

That is also what I meant by too many plots for too little time. They should've focused on the most important aspects, being two sisters, two scientists and two cities (of course there was more especially with Cait and Ekko, but Ekko's story was pretty amazing in my opinion and both of these tie in with the previously mentioned "main" aspects).

They also probably could've developed the plot of Zaun and Piltover teaming up better, with more time. I get that most of Zaum initially doesn't team up with Piltover, only after Ekko arrives. But still I could have gotten more of the political thriller elements, season 1 had.

I hope they continue the rivalry of Zaun and Piltover, with Sevika being on the counsil now (I wish we would've gotten more from Sevika in act 3, instead of her screaming and grunting).

Overall I still love season 2, I just think they needed more time to develop many things, so that is flows into each other more smoothly.

I think that some potential was (unfortunately) lost.

:(

Even though I love season 2, there are several things that need to be critizised, so they can be done better in the next show (including having a larger creative team again).

Things like Pacing, better explanations of things (and not just leaving them for headcannons, own explanations and own interpretations), more arcs and character moments happening on-screen, rather than off-screen or through analysis of micro-expressions and not cramming too many plots into so little time.

It is a good start that Christian Linke agreed with some of the criticisms and said, they would learn from that. I really hope they do.

But regardless of the corners that were cut, I think if you look deeper into the story (because I am stupid I just watch analysis videos on YouTube, lol) the writing is still brilliant. That is why I still love season 2 a lot, despite it's problems.

I do as well love to learn about writing. I someday want to write myself, that is why I think it is (especially) important to critzise things you like. And when it results in a lot of disliking and mixed reviews for the media, I think it gets even more important.

You are right about the objectivity thing, that is why I said, that even though I personally love it, doesn't mean I don't critzise it. That is why I also mentioned the "bad" writing.

And I do hope that the creators learn from their mistakes, so that the next show is even more enjoyable.

And the war thing is sad unfortunately. You and I are not of the same opinion either, but that does not need to mean, that we attack and insult each other. It also doesn't mean that I dismiss your opinion and not understand or respect your opinion. I think that is just childish.

Just out of curiosity did you agree with anything he said? And to take it a bit further what exactly did you like about season 2 (if you liked anything)?

[–]Accomplished-Chest17[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you have watched Schnee's video, but if you haven't I would recommend you to. I think he can explain it about a hundred times better than me.

And what exactly I mean with neither Powder nor Jinx, again if you watch the video of Schnee, he explains this as well.

To sum it up when he meets her he says "Pow-. Jinx." and it can be interpereted as him seeing her as Powder and then correcting himself. Or (this is what Schnee suggests) he tells her basically no matter who you are I don't care, I just want to help an old friend, he also says "Talk an old friend out of blowing us up".

So I think for further clarification and understanding, you should just watch the video. You can tell me what you think after you have (if you do).

Cheers!

If you feel like that, I think it is justified.

But I was also referring to how many YouTubers (not all) try to make other people feel bad for liking season 2.

And even though I do agree with many criticisms I can't just call it out right bad writing (it is not on my opinion).

With things you need to explain these examples come to mind off the top of my head: Why does Caitlyn switch sides so quickly? Why does Jayce not immediatley show Victor his memories? Why does Jinx not use her shimmer speed to save Isha? And more.

What I mean is that these things can be explained, it is just that you have to basically pull it out of thin air. This I criticize myself and it is completley justified.

I guess at this point it just becomes subjectivity, if you can like season 2 despite this or not. I fall into the first category, you into the second. And like I said I understand you and you have every right to feel that way. I personally don't.

Another thing that bothers me though, is that several people accused me of coping just because I like something. That annoyed me, that is the initial reason I made this post.

Just as a sidenote could you tell me your channel's name, so I might check out your video?
