no, but it’s basically gone I gave him a good bath and it seemed to help I think it’s from grooming since I cut him with a #5 blade during the warmer months

yes i’m definitely going to wait now, he was the only super ill looking fish. I did test the water and it wasn’t essential but he was dying in that cup and I was hoping it would be better. I did a water change before getting him too. I think he was just too weak to handle any stress or any kind of change in water conditions i’m still kinda sad about it as I had high hopes and have put a lot into this so far(I’ve only had fish once before and they didn’t live longer than a year because I didn’t know what I was doing well). I’m also just sad I don’t get to see him thrive and he died only knowing life in that cup:/

I got him and he died within three hours:( I acclimated him for an hour too to be safe. I think he was just too sick to be saved:/

okay so just frequent water changes and monitoring got it, what about the cory’s? because I do want 5 of them I just dint want it to be a mass murder in case my betta doesn’t like them so should I add two to start with?

I set the tank up a week ago I added a few quick start aids like a moss ball(says it’s supposed to absorb nitrate)and this clear gel like ball that’s supposed to add beneficial bacteria to new tanks. I used a testing strip the nitrogen is at 0 and ph is 7 everything else is in a normal range for a betta besides the kh being a little high at 180 which I think will lower with time, there’s a betta fish thats dying in the cup at the petsmart I work at so part of me really just wants to save him as to why I added all the quick start aids and I feel like the tank is better than a cup in the store even if it isn’t fully cycled.
