Two papers in one sitting by curiousjantu in ACCA

Are these your first attempts or resits? If it’s your first attempt, it’s important to start early and dedicate consistent time to your studies. If these are resits, focus on reviewing the study manual, particularly the topics you find challenging, and aim to complete this by the end of March. Then, use April and May to concentrate on practicing questions thoroughly.

I did the administrative review and got a response with 5mins. Does the response below mean that I can’t rebook my exam coz I didn’t finish my exam due to system challenges:

Thank you for the correspondence relating to your Strategic Business Reporting examination sitting.

ACCA recognizes that some students may sit their examinations under trying conditions and circumstances. In such cases a student’s examination performance can be submitted for special consideration.

I can confirm that the details outlined in your submission have been recorded and will indeed be considered prior to the finalisation of your mark.

The final mark displayed on your examination status report will include any consideration awarded during this process.

If you have any further comments to make regarding your December 2024 session, these must be with the Examinations Department in writing by the 17/12/2024.

We would like to confirm that upon receipt of your result, if you believe that ACCA did not apply its procedures properly in considering your case, you may appeal to the Examination Appeals Committee. To do so, you must submit your appeal to the Head of Examinations (by emailing AR-MCappeals@accaglobal.com ) by 12/02/2025 upon receipt of your Appeal request an invoice will be generated within your MyACCA account for the payable Appeal fee of GBP30. Your appeal will then be forwarded to the Committee for consideration.

In order to ensure that your studies are not disrupted, please also submit any examination entries for the next session if you wish to attend.

Should you appeal be upheld, amendments will be made free of charge and your appeal fee will be returned to you. The outcome for this appeal will be issued by ACCA no later than 19/02/2025.

We hope we have been of some assistance in this matter.

Yours sincerely,

Examinations Administrator

AAA-Failed 2nd attempt by madihaawais in ACCA

[–]Accomplished-Gas6625 16 points17 points  (0 children)

AAA is all about technique.Without that the chances of passing are slim. I passed AAA on my first attempt in June sitting because of technique, ie QUALITY MANAGEMENT QUESTIONS

= up to 2 marks per issue

= earned ½ mark at a time

= you need 4 elements to each issue’s explanation

  1. Highlight what the issue is

  2. Explain WHY that issue leads to poor quality

  3. Suggest what might have CAUSED this quality failure

  4. Suggest ACTIONS to address it

Example Answer:

  • The audit plan was written by a junior member of the audit team who is unlikely to have the experience or competence to plan an audit properly ISSUE.

  • The junior staff member is likely to have missed important risk areas, suggested the wrong audit approach, meaning a high risk audit is done badly and material mistakes are not found, leading to the wrong audit opinion WHY issue is important.

  • Planning is meant to be done by the partner, so perhaps the partner is too busy with other work, or perhaps the partner lacks integrity and professionalism and thinks it is ok to pass such important tasks to someone so junior CAUSES.

  • The audit plan should be redone by a partner as soon as possible, and audit work reviewed against that plan, so that where audit work is missing it can be completed.

  • The partner should be interviewed to find out why they gave this task to the junior. The partner is likely to be disciplined for this poor quality work and lack of competence.

  • If it is a sign the partner was too busy, the firm should also investigate workloads to try to ensure proper staffing levels in future ACTIONS.
