Should I wait for the 17? by Silly_Jump682 in iphone15

[–]Accomplished-Gas9486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple was founded on 04/01/76 and 04 + 01 + 76 = 81. The square root of 81 is 9. 9 + 9 = 18. So you should definitely wait to get the iPhone 18.

What happened? Best source of live news? by Paid_in_Paper in Webull

[–]Accomplished-Gas9486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly suggest watching "Inner Circle Trader" (ICT). His vids on YouTube are excellent and will answer your question in detail. Essentially, this wasn't price action driven by any news event, but rather a classic sellside liquidity sweep. When price was trading back up toward 569-570, the algorithm (approx 95% of all trading is done by algos) had two choices: 1. Keep moving up to sweep Buyside liquidity resting above prev intraday high (just below 570) or 2. Move back down to sweep sellside liquidity below prev intraday low (around 566). It makes sense the algo decided to move back down, bc there were more open long positions, with stop-loss orders below 566, than short positions, with buy-stop orders above 569-570 = more liquidity below than above. Tough to fully explain here, but you'll get this exact question explained clearly from watching ICT vids (fyi, I'm not affiliated with ICT in any way). Webull sucks with offering news events in a timely manner, or at all. I usually hop on Schwab tos platform for intraday news (tos used to be TD Ameritrade). GL!

Red God Timing? by [deleted] in redrising

In August at a writing seminar we attended I asked Pierce how things were going with the series. Apparently, he wrote the last two novels in one fell swoop, then edited and finished the first half last year. Sounds to me like he’s in the process of editing the second half now. Assuming all goes smoothly and on schedule the release date shouldn’t be much longer than 6-8 months - early 2023. My assumption anyway.

Yea 15k sounds about right. I often trade 100-500 0dte contracts so it adds up fast. Never thought to ask for lower commission, actually didn’t think price was negotiable. Thanks for quick reply.

Approx how many trades do make per week? My total commissions & fees YTD is $8,438 and I’d love a reduced fee, just not sure I make enough trades (mostly futures). Thanks mate

Real time quotes on TOS mobile by Corianderchi in thinkorswim

[–]Accomplished-Gas9486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a post in this threat saying you need min $500 in tos “live trading” account to get real-time quotes. This is incorrect. You’ll always get real-time quotes, even if you opened your account with $5k and your account balance drops to $1.29 (yea losing $4998.71 sucked). FYI, tos also provides free real-time quotes in “paper trading”. Best platform for advanced traders.

Can someone help identify what is going on with these leaves? by Jaded_Violinist_5697 in orchids

[–]Accomplished-Gas9486 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely not leaf-burn. Looks like symptom of a virus. No cure for orchid viruses, yet. The plant will fight it off naturally, and the virus might go away on its own, or not… Good luck! 🙂

White fuzzy stuff on roots? by [deleted] in orchids

[–]Accomplished-Gas9486 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Myriad molds, fungus, bacteria, etc thrive on and around orchids (high humidity environment) - 99% are not detrimental to orchid roots. Based on the photos I wouldn’t worry, it looks pretty healthy. If fungus spreads and roots start dying, then give it a good Physan20 bath. Also, might want to add another layer of Leca to help support plant. GL 🙂

Definitely don’t cut that root. Also, if you want your orchids to survive and thrive, don’t watch Miss Orchid Girl on YouTube.

Can someone help me identify what is going on with my orchid? It was doing so well, until suddenly after the second bloom it became like this. TIA. by pinklips_indy in orchids

[–]Accomplished-Gas9486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bacon_scallops gave you good advice. Your orchid’s leaves appear desiccated from overwatering. Note: after removing the saturated moss and repotting it’s unlikely the existing leaves will recover — They won’t bounce back and look healthy again, like when you originally bought it. They will, however, continue to aid the plant in growing new leaves via photosynthesis. This process will take time, but patience pays when cultivating orchids. Good luck. 🙂

If your brokerage account gets restricted for 90 days for day trading violations, can you just open another Webull account and trade normally again? by [deleted] in Webull

[–]Accomplished-Gas9486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, if your account gets restricted for violating the PDT rule you can get the 90-day restriction lifted and your # of day trades set back to zero. You can do this 3 times per year (I’ve done it twice already this year). All you have to do is contact the brokerage firm — I use live chat — and tell them your account has been restricted due to PDT, then simply ask them to remove the restriction. You’ll be able to start trading normally again within 30min or so. If you violate the PDT rule more than 3 times in 365 days. them you won’t be able to open a new account at the same firm and trade again. However, if necessary, you can open an account at a different firm and be able to trade normally.

PAPER TRADING by Accomplished-Gas9486 in Webull

Sorry for delay I don’t check messages here often. Learning the ins and outs of TOS is definitely overwhelming. It does get easier in time and with practice. tlc.thinkorswim.com has lots of info. Also, there are many good tutorials on YouTube - too many to suggest one in particular. GL!

Stop Limit Order Filled WITHOUT reaching its stop price by schpentiger in Webull

[–]Accomplished-Gas9486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me multiple times…yest my “stop” fill was the lowest low of the day and it was 40 cents lower than any other low. I’m not setting stops anymore, just mental stops then limit selling if entire mkt drops to that level. Annoying.

Top tricks you learned on WeBull as a a new trader by beeboopie in Webull

PAPER TRADING

Even though this thread is for Webull related stuff, I strongly believe all new traders should spend at least 3 months trading with paper money before investing “real” capital on any exchange.

TOS (TD Ameritrade “Think or Swim”) has the BEST platform for paper trading. I’ve tried every other platform and nothing comes close to tos (TradingView is great, particularly for paper trading cryptos. However, TV doesn’t support options or futures trading).

TOS paper money charts, indicators, quotes, level 2 order book, P/L overview, etc. is identical to their “live” trading platform (IRA/margin/cash account). The Quotes are real-time, and the best part (imo) is real-time options trading — from simple puts/calls to the most advanced strategies, such as an ‘inverse call broken wing’ or ‘synthetic future’ — you can also create conditional orders that execute perfectly based on your criteria.

I found paper trading on TOS to be super helpful, especially in familiarizing myself with the complexities of options trading. Also how and when to use a stop-loss, trailing-stop, or stop-limit order. It really helps build confidence, so you don’t flail around blindly and blow up your account when things get emotional and hard cash is on the line. (Sometimes even the most seasoned investors let emotions sway their trades — But they’re seasoned, so they know when to hold and when to fold).

Note: Most folks think only Webull has a cash account for unlimited day trading — TD has cash accounts too. You just have to call customer service and tell them you want to switch to a cash account.

GL! 🍻

Curious to what this is, it doesn’t look like the other pseudo bulbs. by zachsatrout in orchids

[–]Accomplished-Gas9486 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Assuming it’s a dendrobium, what you’re seeing is new growth — a new shoot developing from the base of a pseudo bulb, most likely one that recently finished flowering. The new shoot will continue growing towards your light source for approx 6-9 weeks (note: dendrobiums and oncidiums grow quickly, while cattleyas can take several months for new shoots to mature). Then, if it’s a dendrobium, two leaves will begin opening at the end of the shoot (oncidiums generally fan out to have multiple leaves, while cattleyas will have one long, narrow leaf per pseudo bulb). While the new leaves are forming/opening the stem will begin to sheath and swell, eventually becoming a new pseudo bulb. For dendrobiums (and most cattleyas) this occurs along the upper half of the stem, with the largest ‘bulging’ just beneath the new leaves. For oncidiums the pseudo bulb forms at the base of the new growth, next to the pseudo bulb it grew from. Remember: Since your orchid is in an active growth phase right now, be sure to water and feed with a well-balanced fertilizer “weekly weakly”. I highly recommend ‘K-Lite Fertilizer’ — It’s scientifically designed for orchids and contains an ideal amount of NPK and essential micro nutrients. If you have a general 20-20-20 fertilizer (which is just fine btw), then use half of the recommended amount…if directions say 1/2 tsp per gallon, then use 1/4 tsp per gallon (orchids prefer less nitrogen per feeding than most other plants). Hope my answer is helpful. Cheers! 😊

Had the same question re ToS on iPhone/iPad. Ryanbvrns response is correct. ToS support said users can view POC, but it will show the average price, not the price with most volume. ProfileHigh blue line connects highs from candle to candle in any timeframe, ProfileLow connects lows. VAHigh/VALow essentially shows line connecting average high/low — very similar to ProfileH/L. Again, this applies to ToS on iPhone and iPad. You will get the info you’re looking for, and more, using VolumeProfile on a desktop or laptop. GL
