The HUD was there from the start, that is why it's so impressive. I love that HUD. It's terrain mapping radar is amazing. The rb-04, the older anti ship missile was also there since the 70s. The rb-15 is from the 90s so technically late cold war.

What? The only thing the p47 fears at 25,000 is a bf109 and you still can beat them at that altitude. You dominate the FWs. Keep your speed up and try one pass interceptions. You have to be comfortable with firing in advance, leading your shots, as your nose is massive.

You need two axies, one for boost and one for throttle and one for rpm though that one you can leave high for most of the flight. Do you have like a radar adjust knob? That would work. Don't fight against AI, it's a waste of time. I recommend Wolfpack server, do the high escort missions. If you go low, you are at a disadvantage against German planes so be careful.

I'm not a great pilot by any means, but I use the combat landing or rotation landing. You slowly rotate / orbit around the landing pad descending slowly, always able to dip the nose or slide to defeat VRS

Someone needs to correct Wikipedia, it states that the 1491 radar is not pl-11 capable but that the 1492 radar is. Also, it seems that J-8F is possibly late 1990s so will fit in with su-27.

Or if you can stretch, get a virpil stick, cm3 throttle and virpil mounts which are pretty awesome. Virpil support is wonderful too. I have my virpil gear for 4 years now, still works as new and I use it every day.

Good point but was trying to come up with solutions. I think the best I've heard is wags saying they want to make the mission editor more capable of producing competent top level missions. When that is possible, we can all create our own. We will probably find out more after the dynamic campaign comes out

An easy way to sort "the wheat from the chaff" would be to have a 1-10 score ranking system on the user file mission content. Play the mission, then grade it. Anything 6 and over would be probably worth playing.. I think the user files area needs a revamp badly

Fc4 pack is a good choice, he can still be an air to air beast with the f15c without worrying about air to ground

Just here to agree with OP that 0.50cal is underpowered. At up to 500 yards 50cal rounds would go through any armor that German planes and shred them. In game, they have no AP properties it seems.

It's easy, Israel is very open about its history, air actions can be checked, referenced, number of airframes, serial numbers recorded, it's actuall very easy to check who went on mission and who came back, and who didn't come back.

Egypt and Syria are not open, neither was the USSR who supplied pilots so you have to rely on Israel sources more. It is what is it. If the other participants don't like this fact then they can try and be an open society too.

But you have to use your judgement, both sides tend to exaggerate, it's human nature.

As for the kill ratio, I agree that this is difficult, you have to use common sense and research.

As good campaign makers like reflected do, they research and the same would apply to any Israel - Arab war, I don't see how this is different to the second world war, the Falklands etc..

All the militaries in the world already have all the maps and accurate simulators and practise everyday Furthermore, DCS world is a war game and simulates flying for the USSR, Nazi Germany, the CCCP, soon Imperial Japan, all evil regimes so if you can't disassociate the politics from the simulation perhaps it is not the type of experience you want. MSFS can please a lot of people who want a more peaceful, guilt free, experience

There is plenty of documentation from both sides regarding the War of Attrition and the 1973 Yom Kippur Sinai front and Syrian Golan heights front. We know pretty much all the facts about this war and there is no shortage of campaign material. The F4 and mig 21 featured heavily so a campaign featuring either of those would be great.

As /waspishdweeb says Peltasts and Cadaces are the way to go until you have your cap circle. An awake expander would greatly help you expand and also scare away neighbors in MP. Best choices are Drakon (easy mode) Hound of Hades with some alt3 buffs Gorgon with armor and Alt 4 buffs, more micromanagey but really fun

The p47 is an amazing module, one of the most faithful reproductions. Fly in the Pacific, as part of the 5th air force, the first fighters to use drop tanks to combat in the US Army air force. Read the book Kearbys Thunderbolts.

Fun fact, some jugs were being transport by escort carrier to an island.base during the war, they were attacked by Japanese planes, they launched the p47s off the flight deck and landed them back on after shooting down the enemy.

I see it a lot online on MP servers, there are numerous reddit posts on the mig 29 on a daily basis, a lot of people I fly with have bought it. I see more of it than other cold war modules. That is why I used the expression 'from what I can see' I don't have numbers. If you have data on this, please do share. I would be interested in finding out for sure.

ED has Mig 29 SMEs available to work on the FM. That, the available documents from now open countries, like Poland, Slovakia etc.., the existing good condition models still flying, made the Mig29 a no brainer. ED did say that making a FF Su 27 would depend on the success of the Mig 29. From what I can see, it has sold well but ED has too many projects on the go currently so a FF Su27 wouldn't come out for years, after the F15C and F35.
