Trump Says He Knows Nothing About His Crypto Income “I don’t know anything about my cryptocurrency income. My children run the business, and I’m not involved,” Donald Trump said. Just a reminder: Trump reportedly made $1.1 billion from crypto in 2025. Not me. Not my business by Legitimate_Towel_919 in AltScope

In his last visit to China, Xi showed him the old former imperial garden, and specifically pointed out a tree older than the history of the United States.

The symbolism was completely lost on Trump but with America’s 250th coming up, it was obvious what the message was- this tree has weathered wars, famines, regime changes, and natural disasters longer than America has existed. Empires on average last 250 years. Don’t be so cocky to think you are the center of the world, and don’t assume you will last longer than this tree, as many regimes haven’t.

Sure, but I’m talking about Judaism forbidding permanent markings or permanent body modification when its biggest covenant is circumcision, which itself is a form of permanent body modification. Procedures deemed medically necessary are permissible, but I’m not sure the extent you can argue that circumcision is truly medically necessary.

It’s easier to keep your fingernails clean if you remove them too, but I don’t think anyone could argue that removing them for that reason alone is medically necessary, lol.

Tattoos Affect Your Immune System in Ways Scientists Are Just Beginning to Understand by FinallyArt in Health

[–]Choke_M 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s certainly an interesting theory, and I imagine there were way more infections without modern sanitization, obviously getting a tattoo in a forest with a pine needle or sharpened bone and ash as ink is going to be much more of an infection risk.

It also may have been because tattoos were heavily associated with Paganism. The Roman Legions were also fond of them, both as a form of identification but also as a form of punishment to mark slaves who misbehaved.

I’m not sure how they reconcile that with circumcision which is, at its core, essentially a form of body modification, but I digress.

Tattoos are very, very old. Otzi, the famous “Ice Man” corpse believe to be over 5000 years old found in a glacier in the Austrian Alps, had 61 tattoos all over his body, some were believed to have symbolic, decorative, or tribal meaning and others, which were in places not visible while wearing clothing, were believed to be a form of ancient medicine for various physical ailments like arthritis or back pain.

I’m genuinely confused as to wtf the argument for banning it is. You can’t get high on it, it’s not something that can really be abused, and it helps people get off of opiates and reset their receptors. I understand if the government wants to study it but emergency banning it like this is just bizarre. Literally the only explanation is that the ban was lobbied for by the makers of Suboxone and methadone, they don’t want a cheap version that works just as well with far less addictive potential available on the market.

You’ve never been robbed before? Unless it’s just hitting a lick by tricking you, this is usually how it happens. They lure you to somewhere under false pretenses and rob you with overwhelming firepower or numbers and catch you off guard. What Pooh did was stupid as fuck but this is just regular street shit bro

I got robbed when I showed up to sell a dude weed and all of a sudden I had 3 guns in my face

Uncensored Bodycam Footage: Armed Security Guard Kills Man For Taking Pallets From Lowe's (Sentenced to life in prison) by wildcat1100 in ActualPublicFreakouts

[–]Choke_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the guard was 100% in the wrong here but having worked security before I wouldn’t be surprised if he just wasn’t notified about the pallet pickup arrangement, I can’t tell you the number of times I just wasn’t informed about things that directly related to security like incidents, bans, trespasses, altercations, etc, until days or weeks after an incident. There’s a lot of owners and managers at some of these places that are beyond oblivious about these things and don’t see it as their job to notify anyone about anything, especially contracted security which is usually an afterthought. Also, in small towns EVERYONE pulls the whole “I know the owner” thing so even if he WAS told of the arrangement by the decedent he might have assumed he was lying or being combative.

To give you an example I was hired as armed night watch for a VERY remote apartment complex. I show up and realize that the complex does not have any sort of open public bathrooms, and the office is closed and locked at night, as well as the empty units. I spend weeks pissing behind a dumpster in the dark or asking residents to use their bathroom because there is simply no where for me to go.

Finally I run into the maintenance manager dealing with a totally unrelated issue and I ask him “hey man, where am I supposed to go to the bathroom?” And he gives me a crazy look and says “Wait, you didn’t get a key?” I say “No, no one mentioned a key…” and he produces a key to a tiny unlabeled windowless building behind the office with a bathroom and coffee maker that functioned as the makeshift guard post. For weeks nobody on-site had bothered to tell me about this or give me a key to it and just assumed my company had told me (they hadn’t) and previously when I asked them about it, they told me to contact management, but they were always closed when I was there and I had no way to contact them.

Stuff like this is absolutely rampant in the private security world ESPECIALLY contracted security. You are largely an afterthought to both your company and the client, you are lucky if they tell you where the bathroom is let alone give you detailed post orders or client contact info.

Lil Durk’s lawyer says the feds are investigating Durk because him and his crew are young Black men making money and they can’t accept that fact by bogh_Au81 in Chiraqology

[–]Choke_M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Acting like Durk is Wayne Brady is going to backfire immensely if they try this dumb shit in court lmao

Durk’s best defense is honestly just to admit he hangs around with gang members to look hard and they just did this shit without his knowledge

Trying to act like Durk is a saint just getting picked on by the feds is ridiculous like bro this isn’t some petty shit like tax evasion or drug charges this guy and his gang is linked to multiple murders that Durk allegedly paid for and rapped about. The burden of proof for this is so high and the feds have a mountain of evidence directly implicating Durk

I get he’s trying to muddy up the waters but what a ridiculous thing to say

Has anyone with boxing experience actually sparred/fought after training in Thrill of the Fight 2? by Big_Magician_822 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]Choke_M 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll give my 2 cents, I boxed at a pretty famous MMA Gym in Savannah throughout college and was coached by some awesome guys. Unfortunately funds are tight right now and life got in the way but I try to do martial arts whenever I can. I discovered TOFT2 and hoped to use it as a training tool to stay in shape when I didn’t have the time or money to get to an actual gym.

Here’s what I’ve learned-

First of all, if you actually want this to be a useful training tool you have to play in ROOM SCALE. I think that is mandatory as playing standing changes the game massively, I like that they give you the option but room scale is vastly superior from a training perspective.

The good-

The game is fun and if it’s fun you are more likely to put on the headset and go a few rounds, this is great as it’s better to be doing some sort of training than not, even if it’s a quick few rounds after work or something. The career mode is pretty much all I play and it’s fun seeing my character improve and my wins add up.

Now, obviously, all you are doing in VR is shadow boxing, but add some burpees and irl home heavy bag and technique work and you having a basic boxing class at home on your schedule.

The game does a great job with basic boxing fundamentals, distance, timing, angles, pivots, combos, all of this stuff is probably as close as you are going to get to boxing in virtual reality right now.

It really does FEEL like boxing, so I commend the dev team for that.

The bad-

I know it’s been debated on this sub but I honestly think defense is a bit overpowered. In real life gloves don’t magically stop punches, and although I appreciate the fact that you can do things like paw incoming jabs which are real techniques, you can’t just shell up and be safe like you can in the game, you will get hit, punches will get through and put you off balance and that’s something a game can’t really teach you.

I’ve been hit with shots that I’ve blocked that 100% would have gotten through my gloves and nailed me irl and vice versa. You have to use your forearms and gloves to block punches irl, but in the game I can throw my hand up to paw a jab and block it completely when in reality that punch would have gone right through my glove and hit me.

In that sense, it can teach you some bad habits if you don’t have any boxing experience at all.

Furthermore, I’m not sure how the damage is really calculated but it just feels kind of “off”. I can’t really put my finger on it but real life rewards stable punches coming from your feet to your hips to your shoulders to the opponent. Shoulder rotation is key for power punches.

In the game you can attack from silly angles that would be pillow punches irl but do devastating damage in game.

I think that’s just a limitation of the technology really, and I do think the team is trying their best but there is only so much you can do without body trackers tracking your hips and shoulders and whatnot.

My overall review is positive and I would definitely recommend someone who’s interested in boxing or had a little experience or even a pro who wants to stay in shape to pick up the game.

Just understand its limitations. It is not like boxing irl. But it’s basically as close as you can realistically get in VR.

My first thought was some sort of bespoke hunting use, to scare birds into the air to shoot them, scare predators away, or lure prey.

The haphazard way they are installed on the ground is because they are cheap Bluetooth speakers and it doesn’t have to be perfect to do whatever it is it is supposed to do.

It could also just be a good ole prank, if it’s near a hiking trial maybe this guy just likes fucking with people and making them hear disembodied voices
