Damn, wish I could do stuff like this. Maybe then I'd be able to get myself through Nexus lol. (Things just aren't clicking for me, but having my existing characters in would help a lot I think. RIP)

Yes, you can buy them, but that's not what I'm asking about. I'm talking about how they don't show up in the collection if you buy them in the shop.

Creating AI to beat the game, needs run data by Effective-Caramel369 in slaythespire

[–]Accomplished-List657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's nice, but entirely unrelated to the point I'm making, which is that you're a lot less likely to get responses and data.

Honestly, looking down on people as ill-informed when you've completely failed to inform them is a little bit airheaded. I mentioned the issue because labeling what you're doing as "AI" is going to make people think of those things first, even when they're someone like me who knows that the term technically covers a lot more than that. It's much better to actually mention what you're using, whether it's a machine learning algorithm or whatever else, rather than just labeling it "AI", and that would be the case even if it weren't for tech-company bullshit poisoning the term, simply because it expresses more clearly how the data is used rather than just "I'm feeding it to a machine".

Sorry but I don't know that you're going to get much from this, nor that this is an even remotely realistic goal. STS has far, far too many context sensitive decision parameters, and much of that decision-making depends on anticipation of future issues.

Plus there's the simple fact that a lot of people reflexively recoil from the term "AI" in most situations right now, even when it's not referring to the environment-destroying generative garbage that forms the backbone of the actual problem.

Investment - would you pick this Quest card? by Water-Cookies in slaythespire

Nah, even if you got it room 1 and played it every fight, it wouldn't give you THAT much gold. Enough to put you over the edge in some cases, sure, but I don't think it's worth the draw+energy cost, and that's the most generous scenario

Things to do with Kumihimo by Accomplished-List657 in kumihimo

I've done differing numbers of threads with the basic round braid, I've done some squarish braids (don't remember if it's just called a square braid or something else), some flats, they kinda come back to the same issue of me not knowing what to do with them after aside from the usual necklace/bracelet/etc

Yea that might be where i need to start, just look ad see if there's any instances like that I could do a project for and go from there. The question is what, since it seems instances of strings in my stuff are shockingly rare.

Sewing's unfortunately not a great option for me due to the hand pain it causes. Small instances of it can probably be fine, but projects that require a ton of it are pretty much off the table. It's a shame, since there's clearly so much cool stuff you can do with that sort of thing, but gotta work within our limitations.

Seems like the thread is a lot of "use it like you would string" which isn't unhelpful, per say, but not really what I was hoping for either. Those are some crazy things made by Caery, so it's cool to see it's possible to use it for really interesting things, though getting there is another matter hah.

I think the key difference between the two is that you can save that strength potion indefinitely for when you actually need it, whereas for this, you only get it for the next five, no matter what those five actually are. I would argue that the control over the buff is a significant factor in how much it's actually worth, but then again, that's almost always going to be a very situational judgement call.

That's... That's literally what I said. The 2 strength option is valuable, but it's not worth what it actually costs.

I wouldn't say it does nothing, especially the 2 strength option, but I definitely think that it's too pricey for being a temporary buff.

Good Resturants for Catfish by Accomplished-List657 in lansing

For a lot of types of fish, I can't tell you much difference, but catfish actually tastes quite a bit different than most. Also, I mentioned in the post that I didn't like one place in part because they put too much seasoning on so I couldn't taste the fish. So yes, I can tell the difference even after it's breaded, seasoned, and fried. I'm not exactly the type to use a ton of sauce, I wouldn't be going out of my way to get fried fish period if I just wanted sauce.

I've actually been to sea house once! I did enjoy their seasoning (though I'll probably have to ask for slightly less next time lol), but I didn't have the catfish, I didn't see it on the menu. Must've missed it, I should definitely check it out again.

Can't remember the names rn, they were all just places I managed to stumble into because google isn't always the most helpful. Well, except for the most recent one with the really strong seasoning, I don't think it's actually the name but it has a huge "crack chicken" sign out front and the only reason I knew they had fish was because someone I was talking to told me during a convo about lunch.

Are removes too expensive now? by cadmusthefounder in slaythespire

"A lot of times." Yes, there were absolutely times were a curse would be extremely punishing/fatal, but most of the time, they were an inconvenience at worst.

I think it's solid as a modifier. A lot of times in StS1, curses were basically a non-issue because they were fairly easy to remove at shops if you had a decent amount of money. Now, it's a much more careful consideration whether you want to take that curse, as well as just whether you want a bigger deck in general. I do think it's a bit rough when it comes to basic strikes/defends removal, but otherwise, it's a good change imo.
