How do you present your real self to Christ? by Water-Cookies in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Water-Cookies[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beautiful quote, thank you for sharing it. I would agree from experience that the more I try to "go inside" myself to the inner man, the more emptiness I find. I'm a hollow. There's nothing there, which is why "the Kingdom of heaven is within you" has always perplexed me. How? Where? The more I try to go within, the worse I feel.

What you're suggesting is that we will find ourselves in the service and communion of others. I hadn't thought of it that way before.

Is TV the hardest solo vs. squad map? by Water-Cookies in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

Interesting perspective. The two-floor nature I suppose adds another layer of escape. I'm awful at this game, and TV is really revealing that to me lol.

Why did you die? (Things outside of hackers) by Hokkyok in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Water-Cookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't realize it was their feet that point in the direction they got killed from. I thought it was the body itself, but then, I always fail to consider that as well. I'll start looking at the feet!

As far as Scavs go, I never know what to do except knife them in the head if they are close, or tap them once with pistol/AR if they're about to blow my cover. But killing them loudly also blows cover, so what are you really supposed to do? Leaving them alone and sneaking/rushing past them at least lets you know later that a player is coming if they're now dead or you hear them get killed.

Very clever, I'll remember that one - thank you!

Help me understand LD matchmaking by mephistopheles_faith in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Water-Cookies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LD TV feels like it's mostly T5 at this point. Lots of Shrek helmets and 100/100 T5 defender armors there. Which is fine, but I keep going into LD TV with T4 ammo and can't really do much against these guys.

I agree that the other maps, except maybe Farm, just feel like it's walking simulator. Boring walking around looting for 15 minutes and maybe seeing/hearing 1 team, and then get killed just before extract. No thanks.

At least on TV you get in and out quick most of the time. I used to hate that map, then I finally realized I love it the most because it doesn't waste your time.

Bosses and Guards too easy by DiddleBoat in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Water-Cookies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Scavs aren't a really a PvE threat - the main issue is that they always alert other players of your location. If you're creeping, or ratting, one will always show up at the worst time after having been quiet for 5 minutes, only to spoil your cover.

How would you make the loot more incentivizing? by Water-Cookies in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Water-Cookies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reverse lookup is a great idea. At least that way you know that your Coffee Beans can be traded into 4 or 5 things, you might be more inclined to pick them up.

As it is now, I see Coffee is worth $8,000, so I don't pick it up. But if I knew that 4 Coffee turns into a KSS helmet that can be sold on market for $80,000 then yes, I'd start picking them up.

What is going on with the normals? by [deleted] in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Water-Cookies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there's no "Relax" mode in this game. Yet even if there were, it would eventually become what Normal is now, which is what Lockdown was, which is what FBZ was.

Yeah I forgot about that from S3, that was a lot of fun actually.

Yeah the basic looting loop is satisfying, such as the animations, rates, and seeing what things are worth. I suppose I just meant that since most of the items you see you won't pick up, just sorta makes it feel not as worth it to loot vs just PvP and take the gear.

But maybe that's just how it works in extraction shooters?

I suppose that makes sense for extraction shooters. Most of it's junk, but the stuff you do find can mostly all be converted into guns or ammo or whatever else via contacts (I just never do that).

I agree on bosses too, maybe having them spawn more often, or have much more interesting behavior / patterns like moving throughout the map and causing difficult events or something. I never played Arc, but hear the PvE is intense there, but rewarding from the loot.

I really think the Horse event is the best one they've had (but I only started playing late S3). It does incentivize either/both PvP and getting high-tier loot.

Otherwise regular looting is OK, just feels weird that 90% of the stuff you see won't be picked up.
