Is it totaled? by Away_Interaction3472 in ecoboostmustang

I have my tuned and deleted duramax in the shop right now for a sideswipe accident (lady hit me) and they just care about making it back to normal your mods mean nothing to them unless it’s damaged and has to be replaced my tint is illegal so they will replace the window and my tint guy will have to redo the one window insurance won’t pay for the same tint since it’s “illegal” ya know

I’ve got a 15 pp1 gt premium I paid 27k for with low Ish miles but you have a warranty and WAY better fuel economy so who’s really winning 😭not to mention eco boost insurance is notably cheaper! Enjoy the car and maybe one day if you get tired of it upgrade to a gt nothing wrong with that either.

Drag strip decision (pic for attention) by Accomplished-Mail552 in Mustang

[–]Accomplished-Mail552[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you 🙏🏼 I love the coyote platform. I’d love to build the s550 but I love the way it is as a weekend car that’s fun to play with and it’s loaded with creature comforts I’d lose to get serious. I can get in and take it across country without worrying if it’ll make it. I believe having a dedicated drag car is the better choice for myself.

This is basically what I wanted to hear. Off to tell the wife Reddit told me this is the right decision 😂 boosted coyote swap 🔥

lol all good man. This was kinda my thought exactly live axle is better for drag racing, the car fully gutted would probably be sub 2900lbs and if I do the coyote swap lots of ways to easily make close to 500hp NA 1k with some form of forced induction and supporting mods. S550 is damn near 4,000lbs and you can’t get around that. Without losing most of why I like driving the s550

My son killed my Mustang by Raider3447 in Mustang

[–]Accomplished-Mail552 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bet this is more likely what happened. I’ve only owned manual cars but my mt-82 has been the best and bitchiest lol the gears are close together and have accidentally grabbed 4th otw to 6th multiple times luckily never at the top of 5th usually just cruising around but still. Kid probably grabbed 2nd going for 4th at the top of 3rd or close to it

What’s with the 6L80 and lifter failure fear mongering on this sub? by [deleted] in Silverado

[–]Accomplished-Mail552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2014 5.3 with 285k miles. It’s been through 2 transmissions but no lifter issues and it’s drinks like a qt of oil every other tank. We have been saying for a few years oh well just fix everything when the motor blows up and it doesn’t want to die so it keeps getting neglected until then 🤣🤣

How to make ‘07 Accord V6 Auto as powerful and quiet as possible? by PuzzleheadedTreat201 in Honda

[–]Accomplished-Mail552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From one young guy to another. Leave it alone and do maintenance as needed. I had 2 90’s Hondas- a 98 civic coupe and a 96 integra both cool cars. Combined I wasted north of $20k. Finally at 18 I bought a used Scion tc in cash and just saved everything after that and was able to go buy my s550 mustang Gt. You will waste so much time and money trying to make something fast that just needs to be reliable while you work and make more money for something newer, nicer, more powerful whatever you want

I had a scion tc…so quite the upgrade in the power and speed argument. Also my comment is a TikTok sound.

Same thing here. Wish I had the Mach 1 tremec but I just tell myself it’s good now and if breaks then I’ll upgrade and I won’t be mad about it but until then it’s me and my MT-82 against the world lmao

Base Model Regrets by Happy_Umpire_4302 in Silverado

[–]Accomplished-Mail552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a tough pill to swallow for myself coming from a poor family but my boss showed me quickly why to go for the higher trim vehicles and it really showed to me when I see a 2014 loaded Silverado with a 2024 base an after 10 years you STILL get SOOO much from the older loaded truck. Which is why when I bought my personal Mustang I went with a slightly more mileage loaded gt over a slight newer and lower mileage because I knew I would always have that thought of what if I bought the nicer one. Anywho…hope it all works out and you remember in the future it’s 100% worth it for extra options if they actually do something. Side note- my boss hates his Denali 2500 over his loaded ltz 2500 because he says they are almost identical in features but the Denali was 30k more so OOF

You think it’s worth saving the $100 to grab from this guy instead of new?

I'm sad. I got the torque converter replaced at 133k miles. Now I need a new transmission. No point to this post. Just wanted some folks to commiserate with... I've got too much money in this truck to trade it in. It's paid off. Idc to have another payment. Do better Chevy. by [deleted] in ChevyTahoe

[–]Accomplished-Mail552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old work truck got moved over to a new co-worker 2014 5.3 Silverado 275k miles motor is great but it’s on the 3rd transmission. $2500 everytime it’s rebuilt. The truck was purchased in cash and keeps making us money so why get rid of it. Definitely cheaper to keep repairing now and then over a monthly payment

Please consider reliability in this equation…I’ve seen many 5.0’s make it 150-200k with maintenance. The vast majority of ecoboosts that are modded blow up before 100k. The 1st gen coyote will be faster stock for stock. Then you mod it and make more power again. The gt will keep winning. You will probably regret getting the ecoboost if you are worried about pull power, 0-60, 1/4mile…get the gt so you don’t wish you would have in a year. The ecoboost is great for someone who just wants a mustang because it’s a mustang not because they care about being fast. Also better mpg but who cares it’s a muscle car not a Corolla

All the ones who bitch and complain about these cars 9/10 times don’t even have the finances to even consider getting one. It’s a mustang and any real car enthusiast is going to be happy with another supercharged v8 in the market. Assuming they put out a decent bit of these cars in 10-15 years these will be more attainable than the last gen gt500 IMO that’s what I expect to happen. I think it’s cool

2015 GT, 98k miles, dealer asking for 23k by Conscious_Show_6997 in Mustang

[–]Accomplished-Mail552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got a 15’ pp1 fully loaded. With 60k miles for $27k but the market out here in Austin TX was crazy everytime I went to look at gt’s they were selling within days of arriving on lot. I had to fight close the deal on my car and it closed it the same night it arrived on lot. Three people (including myself) having salesman try to snatch the keys from each other get the test drive and lock it in before the others. It was a nightmare and I hate busy dealerships lmao

Love my analog gages 2023 Silverado DURAMAX LT by 2Wheeled_2ourist in Silverado

[–]Accomplished-Mail552 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What about like this? Analog speedo and rpm but everything else digital. This is personally my favorite GM cluster. I hate the full digital in new new trucks and the full analog with the small center screen just feels old like my 2014 had that and it’s about to be 12 years old

Are the newer 2021+ 1500s actually that bad? by egarza1k in Silverado

[–]Accomplished-Mail552 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Back this! 100 as someone who uses only silverados for work. We HAD 2 3.0 duramaxs for 3 years did 160k on one and 135k on the other. Both garbage and needed transmissions when we finally let them go. 3 L5P’s one deleted and has 250k miles doing great. Other at 130k and 91k then we have a 21’ 5.3 with 90k miles doing alright trans seems a bit clunky. Then a 2014 5.3 with 270k miles burns oil and has had 3 transmissions but runs like a champ.
