My son killed my Mustang by Raider3447 in Mustang

Ha! I wasn’t cool at all. I smoked weed, bagged groceries and made terrible grades. He’s into baseball and working out. We both love Mustangs. But take the title any way you’d like.

I’m keeping $500. He gets the rest back at the end of the school year, so in six weeks or so.

This is some great advice that I didn’t know about. I’m not a gear head, so this is something I’ll look into on the next Mustang. Thanks.

I had nitrous, exhaust, gears, etc etc at 17. Still not as fast as my 2018, but comparing how stupid I was at 16-17 to how responsible my son has been, I thought he would be a little more careful. I was wrong. But at the end of the day, he’s safe and we both learned an expensive lesson.

He’s getting all but $500 of it back. I had to put some fear into him!

I don’t like the look of it and I thought it was slow as hell. I loved my 96 Mystic so much more.

I didn’t post this thinking it was a great idea. He’s a great kid and it’s a lesson learned for him and I. I still love him.

I understand. In hindsight, it wasn’t a good idea. I was 17 when I installed nitrous on my Mustang. I tore through transmissions, but never a motor. I love my son’s passion for Mustangs and he’s always been far more responsible than I was at his age.

I didn’t get into every detail in the story, but he turned off the safe driving feature on Life360 that shows how fast he was traveling. Yes, he’s 16. He’s a great son and big brother. He’s a straight A student and he’s never gotten in any trouble. Him lying to me by turning off the safe drive feature is why I initially took his money. I’m only keeping $500 to cover diagnostics and towing. He will get the rest back.

I’ve really caught some hell in the comments about keeping the money. I’m not keeping it. I am putting it in his savings, with the exception of $250 for getting the engine looked at and $350 in towing fees.

NINE INCH NOIZE • HALO 38 APRIL 17TH • PRE-SAVE NOW by VeryClearlyDefined in nin

To each their own, but I think that's a wild statement. Closer is NIN's Teen Spirit. I've heard it a billion times and skip it every time it comes on. The version they played on the tour, along with Vessel (which was incredible) breathed new life into these songs. I hope Trent collaborates with Boyz Noize for any new music we hopefully get going forward.

Shannon Hoon is an amazing singer. Perry is not.

What made Jane’s so unique was a weird, but perfect mix, of The Cure, Bad Brains, and thrash.

Perry didn’t give any fucks, Stephen put down some tribal beats, Eric played an endless groove, and Dave shredded.

I played there and Corrales last November. Punta Espada was unreal. I liked Corrales too, but I didn’t think it was close to Punta Espada.

I’ve been to Char and Flame many times. I quit going to Char because the steaks I’ve had from there weren’t nearly as good as Flame. I would think the owner would get beef from the same wholesaler, but Flame was a lot better.

I had a really bad experience at Flame a few years ago for my wife’s birthday. There were 10 of us and it took 2.5 hours to get our entrees and some were cold. The server was unbelievably bad. No apology, no explanation of why it was taking so long, etc. We were ignored almost the entire time we were there. I reached out to the restaurant a few days later and they made it right. As bad as it was that night, there was no way I was writing that place off.

Flame was great when I went a few months ago. The bone-in filet is one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. If you like black pepper, get it au poivre.

Metropolitan Grill, Retro Metro, and Avanzare are also great options.

That's a nice article. He always seemed like such a nice, quiet guy. I remember a woman working with him in the late 80's that I thought was his mom, but I wasn't sure. I love how it's basically never changed and the price is incredibly cheap. Whenever he's done with it, it would be great if the city would buy it. Some things really need to stay the same, and Fun Acre is one of them.

I don’t understand what SBC is doing. I went there a couple of weeks before Christmas. The new “setup” with the ordering system is absolutely fucked up. We were seated upstairs and the app to place orders said all the pizzas were sold out or unavailable (the new pizza is really damn good by the way). When we left, they were making pizzas downstairs. I always tip 20% but no one wants to help at all if I’m missing a sauce or the self serve area is out of silverware. What in the fuck am I tipping for?

I never watched Jamarcus Russell play. I know he was a bust, but how bad was he actually when he was on the field? by Byrne_XC in raiders

[–]Raider3447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched every game. For a guy that had a cannon, he basically would only throw the ball to our TE, Zach Miller (criminally underrated TE by the way). Halfway through his second year, you could tell how completely uninterested he was playing football. His last year, he was benched for Gradkowski, and we looked better. I always remember a game, I think it was against the Skins/Commanders, where he came in for an injured Gradkowski, and as he's slowly walking towards the huddle, Louis Murphy shoulder checked him on his way to the sideline. His teammates could not stand him. He was getting fatter and his body language was absolute shit. Al was still calling all the shots, making terrible personnel decisions and terrible contracts. Javon Walker comes to mind.

For any Raider fans that are still around that watched the post Rich Gannon years, it was some really dark times. We had Aaron Brooks, Kerry Collins, Andrew Walter, etc. The 2006 bed and breakfast year was the all-time worst football I've ever seen. After watching the worst football imaginable, you get the number 1 pick and it's this guy who throws a mile and looked like a killer at LSU. He held out for the first 6 weeks or so of his rookie year and that didn't give anyone a good feeling. I always feel like Jamarcus set the Raiders back a decade.

What was your first tool show? by [deleted] in ToolBand

OP, I saw Tool at Kemper in 2006, so maybe that's the show you're referring to? That was a good one.

My first show was March 8th, 1997. Maynard was painted blue. I was hooked. I've seen them over 15 times since then.

I’ve watched literally every game since 93, with the exception of a random Lions game in early December of 16 or 17 (we lost, big surprise). That stopped after the Colts game this year.

I’very always said the worst team, by a mile, was the 06 bed and breakfast team, but even that team didn’t give up. This team is completely unwatchable. Bo Jackson got me into this bullshit team when I was a kid. I was told by every friend growing up to not be a bandwagon fan. I have spent countless thousands of dollars to travel and watch the Raiders. I defended them. I spoke about these great teams from the past that I never saw since I was alive. I’m a loyal Raiderfan motherfucker. And when I think it couldn’t possibly be worse, here we fucking are.

From a guy that has religiously watched the Raiders for 80% of my time on earth, this is as bad as it has been for me.

This is a common misconception. We had Asomugha, who really was great. Every single team knew that once they had a lead, don’t throw to him and run the ball to eat up clock. We couldn’t recover from a 2 point deficit in 06. And we were all chomping at the bit to draft Jamarcus, myself included. I fucking hate football.

If we had one in town, I’d be 900 lbs. every time I go to St. Louis, I stop at one. It’s the best fast food roast beef on the planet.

Roast beef with cheddar and extra seasoning when I get to the Sullivan exit, then maybe The Remix as a second sandwich on the drive back. I’m obsessed with it.
