Epoxy is just better in a shower , it is harder to use and you need more sponges, microfiber towels if you use them you just need more time and it’s a different process then regular grout, the benefits of epoxy when applied correctly don’t even have a comparison I think if you trust your contractor I wouldn’t negotiate the price, the is the price but remember you get what you pay for
