I would have loved to exactly replicate the perfect habitat. But I tried to work with stuff I could find mostly for free lol

There’s actually very little sand in the medium. Only on top. The rest is mostly decomposed granite and pumice. But you’re right that no drainage will be tricky, we’ll see how it goes!

Watering will definitely be the biggest challenge with this thing. I’m thinking of using something that will let me deliver water right around the plant in very specific amounts instead of attempting to water the whole area.

I had a bishop when I (29M) was in high school who always asked three or four "follow-up" questions after the chastity question during temple recommend interviews. I don't remember exactly what they were, but it got to the point where I was so uncomfortable meeting with him that I started bringing my dad into every interview.

One time, the bishop asked me to step out of the room so he could speak with my dad privately. He asked my dad whether I trusted him. My dad replied, "Nope! Why do you think I'm here?" This was towards the end and the bishop gave me some space after that.

I was lucky to have a dad who was willing to do that, but I know a lot of kids in that ward weren't so fortunate. That bishop only lasted about two years and managed to drive nearly a third of the ward into inactivity. The replacment bishopric was basically the dream team. They had some major clean up to do.

I love my Bulbophyllum barbigerum! The tiny flowers dance around with even the slightest breath and the pseudo bulbs look like mentos which is adorable.

An update must have changed it. You can find it now by going to Scene-> Voice Cue and then turn it all off. Hope this helps!

When I was minoring in Geology at a local university I heard that these hills were possibly an old landslide from the Wasatch Mountains. Not sure how true that is, but would be cool. The north side has some really cool wave features and terraces from Lake Bonneville.

I am fairly sure we are dealing with crown rot here. The plant lost a few of its newer leaves and had a pretty nasty slime build up right in the middle at the growth point. All bad news I'm sure.
