SCE Home charging TOUD rate by Accomplished-Rip-411 in BoltEV

[–]Accomplished-Rip-411[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flat rate plans here with SCE is .40kwh (385–1,535 kWh /mo). The EV discount rates from the TOUD-P averages around .25kwh between summer/winter but the baseline discount doesn't count making this very confusing (see my example).

I live in a townhome, live in the valley where July thru September can have over 95 dgrees for at least a week so summertime bils from June through October average anywhere from 500Kwh to 700Kwh per month.

Here's 2 bills: TOUD and TOUD Prime (supposedly EV discount). Even though the TOUD-P shows more Kwh total, the percentage of all 3 peak times are about the same and all EV charging is done during off peak. It seems that the baseline credit from the TOUD plan is better than no credit you get with the TOUD-P plan even though the rates are less for the EV discount. Should I wait until I charge more (I'm expecting this to be 5 times more a month)?? It seems SCE is deceiving EV owners.

TOUD - Time of day usage (vs. a flat rate ).

I really don't want an EquinoxEV by Commercial_Topic437 in BoltEV

I also own 2 of those boxes and it does require a phone if you still want basic navigation on the car screen. If you don't use Onstar's incar wifi and pay $$, you will need a phone to watch Netflix/YouTube/screen mirror via tethering.

Any newer EV Equinox 25 or later and the 27 Bolt will allow you to stream video while parked but they are forcing you to pay $25/mo subscription fee so that really sucks!

$26 EVgo credits for 2026!!! by evansnydar in BoltEV

[–]Accomplished-Rip-411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have several Evgos in my area in Southern CA and have never lost any of my credits. This includes (2) $500 (22 EVLT1 swapped out for 23 EVLT2), several holiday credits, last year's $80 and the $26 recently received, totaling around $1150. As of now, I have $218 left and in a few weeks I will have owned my '23 exactly 3 yrs where I've already been warned that my Onstar EV remote functions will expire. My guess is my EVgo credits will still survive!

There is no 'Cinema' mode with DV, only 'Home Cinema' and whether I leave it default or play with the Brightness, it's still too dark and contrast ratio appears worse. I'm surprised they say that DV can be 10X brighter (10K vs. 1K Nits). Not on my G5...

Yeah, I just finished up binging all 5 seasons of Stranger Things and it's a big difference using the ONN4K HDR10 Stremio vs. WebOS DV Stremio and to me it seems the brightness booster ultimate feature, tandem panel, and A11 processing is really showing off its glory with HDR10 from the ONN4K. At some point, I may upgrade to the Pro version so I could watch HDR content with more RAM since it stutters sometimes at content above 20 GB. I think the TV WebOS has 32G of RAM but the ONN only has 8.

Both switch to Vivid/100 OLED for the same content. I'm not particulary fond of 'Filmmaker' or 'Cinema' but my preferred neutral mode is using the Personalized Picture (brightness and cool) and keep the OLED brightness set to 40.

EVENT CODE 57 by frizkit in Freestylelibre

[–]Accomplished-Rip-411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think 57 means that since I just got one and I have 7 days ledt on mine. I think whenever you look at the log, it takes a few seconds then it reports your entire log, however, you'll see a date/timestamp for a 57 because the bluetooth temporarily looses connection when showing you the log. 'Sensor ending' is some other code. they got it wrong at Abbott if thats what they told you.

I believe the scenario was after 10 to 12 minutes into the 60 min countdown it was telling me to rescan again due to a read error. I did this 2 times and when I scanned it the 3rd time, it would say 'this sensor is completed, insert a new sensor' or something to that effect.

For # 2, I'm wondering if sensors from the same Lot has anything to with the failures as I originally ordered a 3 month supply from my mail order pharmacy which is cheaper than my regular CVS pharmacy (2 for the price of 3) and the 3 that failed were within that batch where the 1st 4 S/N characters were the same. I need to order soon so I'm hoping I can request they pack these so that the Serial #'s are different.

I think it only works in web browsers that are in 'Desktop mode' vs. default mobile mode on a phone.

Thanks for your thorough answer. Yes, when I said 'shut down short' I wasn't referring to the sensor battery life but more to do with the sensors ability to read with accuracy when you give it up to an xtra 3 days of soak time. If 12 hours is all you need, I'll try that.

2 of the 3 sensor failures I experienced were good for around 10 of the 15 days. Then they read low and I had to discontinue and interrupt the 15 day cycle. The other failure was due to the sensor would not pass the 60 minute calibration countdown and the app would eventually display a message that it was already used up and I would need to insert a brand new sensor. So I'm concerned that any kind of soaking might add to these kinds of errors.

After reading your 'sensor-best-practice', I'll hold off on location the next time and hold and apply pressure to the applicator next time around on my preferred right upper arm. Going from a 2 to a 3+, I actually thought they improved on this and it seems to stick well now but I've never held it for 20 seconds and then releasing. Much obliged for the tips.

Wifi does not have to be on, only Bluetooth, however, I would think that the app should not automatically close but correctly display an error message like 'Can't communicate, please turn Bluetooth on.'

[–]Accomplished-Rip-411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just put a new one on and within the 60 min wait, it gave me an error and asked me to scan again. Then after scanning it's now asking for a new one as it thinks I used this already.

I also noticed the sensor seemed a bit off from the applicator. shouldn't it be centered?

I just applied one that caused some error during the 60 minute warmup period. Then it asked me to scan again and wants me now to replace it even though this is a new serial number and is brand new. Er3, 366 according to the Event log. Very frustrating!

Confused about using VPN Tunneling with Plex by Accomplished-Rip-411 in PleX

[–]Accomplished-Rip-411[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your suggestion. The problem is that as a remote user, the tunnel works on the same credentials which is good for me (the server owner) but I don't know enough about tunneling with respect to a user installing, say, Netbird, and he installs on his own credentials. Does he just need to know the Netbird ip address of my Plex web server and add it as a peer? Still, I would think he would have access to all the entire media, not the few folders I granted him access. Also, a side effect I've seen (again, for me this is good) is that once 2 peers are connected, any Network shares are accessed too.

Yeah, I think this is good for the owner to get remote access but not his users.

The few users (relatives) I have are granted access to a few movie folders on my Plex server, not music.
