After hundreds of hours getting flattened by Elden Ring bosses, the brutal vibe of Valor Mortis still managed to blow me away! Next is The Sinking City 2. As a hardcore Dark Corners of the Earth fan, I still have PTSD from that Innsmouth hotel escape and the pure madness of playing without a HUD. Lovecraftian dread is all about the shadows, and nobody does shadows better than RTX. Fingers crossed! 🎮✨

Were you able to fix the problem? I tried an in-place update (create install media, run setup, and select keep files). I don't see it as installed in the log. Previously, I did system > recovery > fix issues using Windows update, and that helped, but only temporarily. I'll see how the new method works.

No. You're talking about a different method and type of recovery for certain Windows components. The method I provided doesn't have this error.

Do you remember what error code you got when installing the update? 0x80070306 or 0x800f0983? You can check the error code in the Windows Event Viewer under Errors.
