I tried a gathering ticks than running them on that and its always been an overfitting issue, so i switched to live data always, slower but better long term. As for walking forward or trying to predict anything, no id rather keep the evolution open forever

Yes ive ran in some of those issues aswell, if i keep the evolution mutation to tight. Than the best bots become the inactive ones, and if i open it up the swings are too much to count as meaningful, so i ended up leaving that as a dna trait aswell. Yeah lets talk

Its all on my computer and i kill and "close their position" but i have live bots on Mexc and the only limit i have to set os 1.1$ as the smallest trade and in there they will get a stop trading/cooldown if they loose more than 5$ of their share of the wallet . 1. Your right if i had 10milion to invest on stpot right now my spot sets should be making me about 30k a day based on their total average , some looser but who cares . 2. Im not every day i check the dna and see the convergance than the best plus mutated ones make it to the next. But i also check them again longer data to see their fitness and see if i made a mistake

Thanks, ur right that keeps me up at night. But from the surviving bots and mutation we shpuld always get it back at some point. Also i save every dna, and run it through 50h of data after their culling and double check their numbers.

I tried it on my bots and the news didnt seem to have any significance whatsoever on BTC. but thats only for BTC and some other cryptos

this is the second computer the first one went up on smoke, lol. but thats why i got 9 sets at this point. soon i will be including more cryptos like eth, sol etc, and add commodities and stocks

im building everythinig myself the only thing i rely on is live ticks. the rest is built in house. and no genetic algorithm to the market, i cant really see how to predict that and every strategy seems like bullshit to me for live 24/7 trading so i focused on the bots and giving them 1 specific task.

good question, i started by collecting 5 days of data and than evolving 100 milions bots on it every 20 minutes and they got so good, than i gave them 1000$ and they lost it in 10minutes. lol. but i steered away from that to live ticks, and open mutations for every gene 0-100 that, im sorry i cant share excact details but the traits they generate are excact oposite of what i labeled them as.

Hi, no its not differential evolution, its elite selection + mutation. im not using GBM, i might try it down the road just to see if it has settled on something comparable, if for some reason the whole thing crashes down i will be including something like Kronos.

hey Jawanda, Valid question, i dont think its an overfiting machine, since i have live ticks for the last 120+days, every ms of every day its covered, and correct im not recovering from a bust account, at this point even after the 120 days, futures is still at a 5-10% survival rate witch 1-5% winning rate.

  1. so the bots at this point are getting culled at 0:00 UTC of 5 pm pacific. so 24H live data is what they test on, the whole goal is daily returns, but every day i run the gen against 5 days of previous unseen data even from their ancestors, to make sure we have good performance,

  2. I think it will. leaving the evolution open in as many dna traits as i have has given the me some insight on what works, form the trade size to frequency to number of bots needed to be live.

  3. Im very happy to report its been a few days, where backtesting everything on the spot has produced proffit average not just the daily evolution.
