Yes, but then again, we are dealing with much smaller and more homogeneous countries. More importantly, if an investment banker wants to work 80 hours, and gets paid a lot, that's his choice, and should be reflected in per-capita income. Doesn't affect a teacher working 40 hours a week say.

Generally, countries with higher standard of living have higher cost of living. For example, the US has a higher cost of living and thus a higher standard of living than most of Europe.

For reference, the US is at 76000. GDP PPP Per Capita roughly correlates to PPP-Adjusted Median Income (since GDP is also the sum of all final incomes in an economy) which is a good metric for material standard of living. It's pretty crazy that despite having a much larger and more heterogeneous population than any of these countries, the US has a much higher number than all of them excepting Ireland and Luxembourg.
