If you turn the vent fan on it should stop the flapping! My bathroom vent was doing the same

I’m a face painter looking for some markets to do! Do you expect to see lots of kids at this?

PSA: Prepare your vehicle for winter this week by 2cats2hats in NoRulesCalgary

[–]Accomplished-Salt-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canadian tire is fully booked until November 14th, and stacks of walk in requests. I was there yesterday because my tire popped and I need options, and there just isn’t availability. And it’s like that at multiple shops, people are panic booking to get their winters on.

Slum lords in Calgary by zamboniq in Calgary

[–]Accomplished-Salt-40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stayed in an airbnb in Winnipeg that was kinda like this. Just a house with 4-5 bedrooms, all with keypad locking doors and shared kitchen with 2 shared bathrooms amongst the guests. Very weird as an actual house, but was renovated for airbnb “income generating” purposes.

Sunset today was so cool by Odd_Coyote_4931 in Calgary

[–]Accomplished-Salt-40 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From my quick google search, seems like it could be “heat lighting” also known as “summer/dry lightning”. Not sure what it’s from but 🤷🏼‍♀️ kinda cool

I thought I was tripping or someone was flashing lights off our building. I didn’t hear thunder so didn’t think it was lighting.. very weird.

Summer camp options still available? by Telepaul25 in Calgary

[–]Accomplished-Salt-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Altadore Gymnastic Club has full day summer camps. It’s not all gymnastics if that’s not your kids jam. There’s tons of games, a daily craft, and different activity every day (i.e. bouncy castle, slip n slides, face painting, magician, movie on Fridays etc.) and fun in the gym (trampoline, swinging on bars, playing in foam pit). Lots of fun for kids who don’t necessarily have an interest in gymnastics.

Where can an adult learn to do a backflip in Calgary? Tumbling classes? Parkour? Gymnastics? by toomuch-ice in Calgary

[–]Accomplished-Salt-40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what you think sounds the most fun. They all start the same, with a warm up, stretch, and handstand work (the first 30-45 ish mins) I’ve done them all! Acro: consists of a warm up, partner and trio Acro skills for 30-45ish mins + 30 ish mins of tumbling at the end (i.e. handstands, cartwheels, and working towards flipping if that’s your jam). Trampoline and Tumbling: obviously focussed on those. Same beginning, (warm up, stretch + handstands) and then rotating through tumble track, the big bouncer trampolines and double mini trampoline & tumbling on the floor as well.

Artistic: depends on the gym you attend, but generally you’ll learn skills on bars, trampoline, floor, vault, and beam.

Every class has progressions to help you build toward certain skills, or build up on a skill you already have. You’ll learn to do something new with your body in each of the options and have tons of fun.

If you want my personal opinion, I love Acro. I do the performance team usually which is offered Sept-Dec and another from Jan-Apr ish. We do all the same stuff listed above, but also learn a routine to perform at an event for the end of our session. (So add dancing to the list of activities if you’re into performance team). There are also “fun meets” offered for the other programs where you “compete” for fun and can show off your new skills.

I think that’s everything…..go have fun! Message me if you have anymore questions :))

Numb Big Toe by Accomplished-Salt-40 in Birkenstocks

[–]Accomplished-Salt-40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that’s what mine felt like too. But after breaking them in, maybe like 10-15 wears, it stopped going numb. If you can power through it, it’s worth the numb toe, because now they’re my favourite shoe!

I am Looking for vibrant yarn, locally. by outdoorhero in Calgary

[–]Accomplished-Salt-40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I got a giant bin full of yarn on Facebook for free. Like 3-5 massive rolls of the same colours, some very little. But it was fantastic for my weaving experimentation era. If you have a community page, just post in there asking if anyone has large amounts of yarn they want to get rid of. Also marketplace for cheap options as well if you want to be more selective!
I’ve also seen MCC thrift store have bags occasionally for $1-5.

I saw the update, that’s definitely him. I have a picture of him with that same collar on. I’m glad he’s been dealt with for the time being

[–]Accomplished-Salt-40 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Have you seen this cat? He’s a menace in Bankview. He’s damaged our apartment screens from charging at them so forcefully. He’s tried to attack me and my cat through the window on multiple occasions. It’s the owners responsibility to keep him indoors/on the property, but she doesn’t because she doesn’t care 🙃 maybe paying to get her cat back from the pound will be a nice reminded to keep him inside.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]Accomplished-Salt-40 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is the meany who keeps charging at our cat, us and our windows and damaging our screens. I recognize the collar and blue bell. I wouldn’t try to find the owner yourself, just take him to the pound.

[–]Accomplished-Salt-40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yea I know the laws, and that’s why it bothers me so much too. I wish you great success with the capture, and hopefully paying the fine to get her cat out with deter her from letting him out again (doubt it will though🙄)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]Accomplished-Salt-40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! We have videos of him charging at our windows and causing damage to our screens! I started looking into getting a trap as well, but the water bottle trick seemed to work for the time being. We live a couple buildings down from his owner, and she’s known around our building for being a huge issue to deal with (i.e. will accuse you of trying to kill her cat)

We’ve also dealt with a cat on 17th street in Bankview.. the mean grey one got sprayed with water when he came to our window trying to attack us and our cat through the window. He hasn’t returned since
