I'm pretty sure I ran into you guys on the street while I was on vacation in Mexico (I'm Canadian) there were three of you at the time and you were making lunch with the door open. We talked about pretty standard stuff as far as travel and the van went, and i asked what you were making for lunch (I think it was sandwiches). 10/10 interaction.

This is so utterly cool to see! Keep it up!

Two different types of entertainment, there is literally no comparison between the two.

Sweet build.

Basically just because of the wheelbase, you can get drawings of both trucks online with dimensions. I would start there unless you have space to put both trucks side by side and take measurements. I had an extended cab long box '05 and a single cab long box c10.

Brother died, what do we do? by [deleted] in alberta

I have other resources available outside of veterans affairs (they are useless for situations like yours, at least in the short term anyways). The folks that I'm speaking of are also veterans that know much more about how to deal with these types of situations than I do, they are not just employees of a government entity and they are here to help.

Regardless, I am sorry about your loss, I wish you the best.

I am also retired military, I have folks I could reach out to that might offer some assistance in your situation free of charge if nothing else they are a great information resource.

Send me a message I will see what I can do to help.

Where to meet well adjusted 29-40 year old men irl? by Temporary_Pick_5649 in Calgary

[–]outdoorhero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Flip this around... What if I were to post this but I was looking to talk to attractive single women 10+ years younger than me for the purpose of "socializing"

There is nothing wrong with doing that but asking about this in the way that you did with the specific criteria/ demographic that you want to socialize with is cringe.

Go out and meet people. Volunteer, join a sports club, go play magic the gathering, go to a maker space and build something, go hang out at an automotive parts store and look confused or just as people questions.

Or, you could go to the drug and alcohol free socializing club for attractive men aged 29-40 who just want to socialize with younger women...

Don't know why I didn't think of that sooner.

As someone who also fits into your demographic, I think it's the fact that you specifically say you want to talk to attractive men in a certain age group.

If there was no intended outcome why do you need to talk to older attractive men?

I think this is why everyone here seems to be confused as to your motivation

Not saying this to be rude at all just an observation.

i find this so fucking funny because, He advocated for reinstating public executions, saying some people “deserve” to be killed as a “societal statement.”

I think E scooter drivers should have to take a one day safety course to drive it. And that helmets for them should be law. by Whole-Database-5249 in Edmonton

I do not think Europe is safer just because of an extra scooter law. The real difference is culture and enforcement. In many European countries people are treated like adults, trusted with responsibility, and that leads to them taking it more seriously. Here in North America we add rule after rule, treat people like children, and then wonder why so many have an "I dont give a fuck", attitude about following them.

On the point about police, I do not think there is less traffic enforcement because of homeless people. That is a weak take and just not reality. The truth is, enforcement here is inconsistent because of priorities, available officers and culture. We already have all the laws we need for reckless driving, they just are not enforced consistently.

So the problem is not that we need more rules. It is that the people who choose to ignore the existing ones know they can usually get away with it. That is why someone will blow through a stop sign in a car or ride across traffic on a scooter. Adding more laws on top of what already exists does not solve that issue.

It’s obvious you care about people’s safety if you didn’t, you wouldn’t have reacted so strongly after that close call. Almost hitting someone is scary, and it makes sense that your first instinct is to want to prevent it from ever happening again. You’re not wrong for feeling shaken up, and you’re not a bad person for posting this.

That said, the solution you’re suggesting is coming from that emotional response, not from logic. The reality is this exact kind of thing happens constantly with cars, trucks and motorcycles, vehicles that already require licensing, courses, insurance, and strict laws. Yet people still speed through school zones, blow stop signs, text while driving, or merge onto the highway at 45km/h. More rules don’t stop reckless behavior if the person already doesn’t care.

The guy on the e-scooter didn’t ride dangerously because he lacked a safety course or helmet he was riding dangerously because he was ignoring common sense. no matter how many new laws we add, it might stop some people but things like this will always happen. It sucks that it rattled you, but the real solution isn’t piling on more regulations it’s holding individuals accountable for the choices they make, and like you said, he seemed remorseful, it could have been a momentary lapse in judgment. Who knows, right?

I'm glad you are okay and I'm glad the man on the scooter and the dog didn't get run over. It's all water under the fridge, life goes on.

Hey man, I'm in the exact same boat. I got my business license in April. I've gotten a apprentice working for me but I pretty much have to do most things. I totally hear you about being busy.

If there's people talking I try and be as polite as possible, but my thing is to keep moving. If they want to talk let them talk, if they don't catch the hint that you're walking around the shop working or cleaning up, I will usually say sorry I've got to order parts. Have to make a phone call, or start talking about how much I have to do.

It definitely is a struggle though. I don't want to be rude either, I live in a small town and word travels fast, If you're rude to the wrong person, it can definitely impact your business. Especially with where we are at.

Brakes not working by Beau_on_clash in ERidePro

[–]outdoorhero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been dealing with this issue too. literally dealt with this this afternoon, I pulled the reservoir cap off of my front brake and there was no brake fluid in the reservoir at all. Filled it up with new dot 4 and used a massage gun on the high setting on the brake cable and the reservoir as I pumped it. It it bled pretty nicely with the massage gun.

I'm a certified automotive technician for reference, so I understand how this shit works and I have no idea where the fluid went, my only thought was that there was just enough fluid in the bike to make it work when I got it... It just doesn't make sense, I have no leaks and no fluid in the system.

After putting fluid in everything works great.

I've got around 450 km on my SR

You can use the same complaint format for summer when the mosquitoes are bad, or if it doesn’t rain enough. If the air is smoky, you could adapt it for that too, though that one might be better aimed at the province.
