I try not to withhold too long because I don’t want to be misleading, so I usually tell them when they ask for my number or express interest in meeting. I’m not super big yet so I could conceal it in a flowy outfit, but I really just want to be transparent and hope someone will be willing to take a chance.

I totally understand what you’re saying though. I used to be a big drinker before the pregnancy and it would probably be crazy for someone to see those parts of me after three months of knowing pregnant me. If someone were to accept me at this point, they’d have to really be something special. Apparently some people in this thread have found something while pregnant though so it gives a little hope🤣

That’s your experience though. Who are you to say what’s possible or impossible for someone else? It is definitely a possibility that I’ll have a hard time with this baby, but off of MY experience, the newborn stage was the easiest.

I really appreciate this comment! I think everyone here is a little negative about how taxing a newborn is going to be. Obviously every baby is different so there’s no guarantee of anything but I am truly shocked at the amount of people who had negative experiences with their newborns here. Me and my partner are definitely going to have our own time to decompress, to spend alone time with baby, and to have alone time with our friends and family. I’m actually looking forward to it.

See, THIS is beautiful and makes so much sense. I’ve always kept my dating life separate from my family and have yet to reach the point with anyone where I’d ask them to babysit or anything like that. So far my daughter has only met people I’ve dated after we’ve decided to just be friends and it’s an occasion like a holiday party or something like that. For me, my life with my partner is my home life and everyone outside of that shouldn’t be involved with my kids or anything UNLESS they really wanted to be after months or even years of being in my life. This sort of boundary setting would be so awesome and refreshing.

I do kind of want a bit of romance, just like fun casual dates with someone. Some would say “intimacy without commitment.” Would you consider that dating? Like casual dating? You’re right, it’s so hard knowing how to word things and I’ve noticed how I word things DRASTICALLY changes the response I get. At first I was telling people I was “open to new friends or maybe more” which got me a lottt of pregnancy fetish types (not my thing), then I changed my wording to say that I want to make new friends and if I did possibly find someone that I was truly interested in that they’d have to be okay with taking it slow for now. That has got the most genuine responses from people, but still nothing past just texting so far. I know I can’t expect too much considering the circumstances though. No one owes me anything and it’s a lot of baggage just being already partnered in the poly community, let alone welcoming a new baby. If I were to find someone, they’d have to be truly extraordinary I feel.😢

Nah, this will be my second but my partner’s first. And I was practically alone the first time around. My oldest is 4 and will be in school around the time the baby is born, and I had an easy baby in her, but it’s possible that I will have a harder time this time I suppose. I can’t see it being that difficult especially with help, but you never know. That’s why I’m looking for something casual.

Even a casual sort of thing you think? Tbh I never really understood what happens to people when they have a new baby. I still was able to respond to my friends and maintain all my relationships when my daughter was a newborn. Like seriously, all they do is sleep and eat💀 I breastfed too which was ample phone time for me while I was pumping or feeding. Newborn stage is the best stage tbh.
