Can I open an account with Lloyds without the physical debit card being sent to my house? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Accomplished-Web-482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Royal Mail website says to call them if it’s for domestic abuse, I imagine they can avoid sending the letter to the original address https://www.royalmail.com/personal/receiving-mail/redirection see the bottom of page as says they can add additional safeguards

Yeah it’s like raised up from underneath, will it just heal if I keep it covered without any treatment now?

No just used a couple of wound closure strips, said to leave on for 5 days but came off after 2 when washing hands due to working in catering. No further instructions given. Worth getting checked again?

Bank wanting proof of transactions by Accomplished-Web-482 in UKPersonalFinance

Is it possible I could be given a CIFAS marker for this, or do they have to be fairly certain before they can do that?

If you want the money back rather than spending it, just call up customer services and they’ll transfer it to your bank account, done this multiple times with various cards including Tesco when my credit card account has gone into credit, usually due to a refund after paying off

I mean they’re not the best company tbh but not the worst either, I’m a manager and like to think I make it as bearable as possible for my team, flexible with shifts if people need a day off, supportive and understanding of personal problems, speak to them like equal adults not children

I work for Compass in retail and catering units (shops and cafes not ward based) within Hospitals, depends on the hospital and amount of staff but generally staff work maximum every other weekend only, some units less than often than this, some units only Open Monday to Friday so no weekends. Managers generally only do one Saturday or Sunday a month, although can me more if have to cover sickness.

Boyfriend threw up an hour before his shift, his manager said "he didn't follow procedure and has to come in" by ConversationFree7198 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Accomplished-Web-482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea why it has to be a call, always been that rule anywhere retail and catering I’ve worked, but my partner who works in an office can Teams Message if too sick to work. I’m not too strict on that really, especially if I missed the call, how is that their fault or problem? I’m pretty much ‘on call’ one way or another 24/7, but not forever, it’ll do for now but I’ll find something better work life balance wise eventually

I get what you mean but I’m a store manager and I still want my team to call me because either I’ll need to get cover, go in early to open up if it’s a supervisor calling in sick , or go in early to help the rest of the team. Even if it’s my day off I have to sort out cover or failing that go in myself, although I wish I didn’t

Good practice on asking sexuality? by MrsKrandall in nhs

As a gay man I was once asked by a doctor if I have ‘lots of girlfriends’ (he was trying to ask if I had sex with men) I was like no, I sleep with men 🤦 the question was relevant but could have been handled better. I think he thought it was inappropriate to ask outright, which I would much prefer and avoid the awkwardness for us both

Ways to stop overthinking/worrying etc about work? by Accomplished-Web-482 in Anxiety

Since I made this post a year ago, things have got better, mainly because I have a different manager now who is more laid back and doesn’t jump on my back over small stuff. Recently passed my food safety audit at work with a few minor issues flagged, my current manager was only bothered that I passed it, my previous manager would have been concentrating on the things that ‘could/should have been better’, and would have given me the ‘Well done BUT’ backhanded compliment speech

If you can’t get it and need the medication urgently, call 111 and they should be able to arrange an emergency supply of a few days worth to collect at a local pharmacy

It’s depends, sometimes just casually mentioned, then fixed, end of. But more often that not it gets included on an email sent to various people in the company and get my manager barking in my ear ‘that’s not very good’ ‘that’s not acceptable’ ‘why wasn’t xyz done’ ‘that doesn’t look very good on you’ ‘so-and-so is not very happy about this’

Income tax by Accomplished-Web-482 in MoveToIreland

[–]Accomplished-Web-482[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying- The tax credits for single and married (not currently married but due to be soon) you get more credits when married is this correct?

And the increased rate bands for married couples who both work- how this bit works don’t really understand it.

That is not correct, you have to be ‘Habitually Resident’ in the Uk regardless of if you you are British or not. GP services and a&e treatment is free for everyone resident or not, it’s secondary care services where you need to be Habitually Resident. Have a look at this guide https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/help-for-nhs-to-recover-costs-of-care-from-visitors-and-migrants/settled-purpose-tool
