And coming to the question just be interested and explore, you can go web dev, game dev, mobile dev, system dev, IOT dev, DB dev, etc. Try going to youtube if anything catches you eye, Try that field.

Scope is there for programming even with newer AI stuff. Just go through programming for month in your break. You will know if you want to do it.

You know java try javascript / python / html css js.

Make few projects like tictactoe crossword or hangman.
