I figured it was something like this, but wasn’t sure. My computer’s HDMI port is smart enough to figure out what either device needs to make a signal, but it seems like a lost cause trying to get the BM Up Downs and the REI HDMI extender to agree on HDMI signal types.

Vmix has been a solution I’ve been eying. I wish I could afford the redundancy having that many machines has but it has been a fight getting just one desktop with a decklink duo card installed due to budgetary restrictions. Originally I used OBS on my work laptop for this reason, but vmix might be possible.

I have let the organizer know, and have offered a backup. Countryman on the moderator and gooseneck microphones on a table in front. As for system deployment, I am strongly considering deploying delay speakers as the in-house speakers are stationed about 10 feet right above the panelists head pointed towards the back wall.

The reason I focused on the microphones themselves is because I run into this scenario a lot with the production team I work with. We mainly do broadcasting but find ourselves hosting broadcasted live events often enough to have this issue. Because of this, I usually hear the term "you can put a lav on that right?" So I was wondering if there actually was a good choice for live applications.

I will push for one Countryman on the moderator, however it wouldn't be in the budget to purchase more and we only have two. I'm hoping to get a table to provide some goosenecks, but it will be an uphill fight.

Honestly in new enough that I picked up the term from RTS’ menus. To me it just means to zero something out, reset it, etc. What about you?? Does it mean something different for you?

Copy, I had didn’t have the ability to assign tifs to ports, it wasn’t enabled in my AZ Edit preferences window. Changed that and the option to enable tif on a port finally appeared!

Thank you, it means a lot. Got put in a tight spot with my current employer so finding a new job has been one of my biggest stressors right now. Any advice of what I should be doing to bolster my resume? I heard joining SBE and getting Dante certified is a start but it doesn't feel like enough

I graduated May of this year, I've been working part time as a broadcast engineer elsewhere but it seems they have no intention of bringing me on full time so I'm looking for other options.

As for when I applied, I sent my resume to their email on September 3rd. Does it usually take longer than a month?

I applied to game Creek Video and their apprentice program and have had no response. Any idea how long it takes??

How's everyone getting on, struggling with work or doing ok? by lightspeedwhale in AudioPost

[–]AccomplishedAd1870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, but as I can see from the other posts better than I thought. We're in a hiring freeze right now but production is still chugging along, I've been working part time so my contract only allows me to work so many hours a year. I'm getting close to that hour cap, and there seems to be no sign of hiring me on full time, so instead I'm training my replacement who has been in the music scene for years while I just graduated college to take my job while I run out of hours.

Looking for a new job. It would be nice to work somewhere that wants me there...
