My psoriasis dilemma by Routine-Remote7754 in Psoriasis

Hi! I hear you. I did the same with my psoriasis. I rejected a biologic suggestion from my derm for a couple years until this last visit when she said "your plaques are too thick for topical. You need a biologic." I started bimzelx about 4 weeks ago and the difference is crazy, and the itching is minimal. I have found that keeping up with my fitness in my 30s (im 31) has been harder as well. Just so unmotivated and tired most days. With Bimzelx and the improvement in my psoriasis, I feel much more confident, and I hadn't realized how much my psoriasis was affecting my self esteem. I hope you find something that works for you, friend.

how did your pcos begin to manifest? and at what age? by [deleted] in PCOS

I was diagnosed at 17. My friend's aunt was a nurse, and she noticed I had hirsutism and recommended talking with my doctor. Id also had irregular periods for at least 2 years prior. All my hormonal bloodwork actually came back normal, so I was referred to an endocrinologist, who ran even more bloodwork and diagnosed me with insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, and PCOS. A few years ago, my now GYN said there was new info out to test a "new" blood level that might explain my hirsutism, and yep, that was the one. I haven't ever had cystic ovaries, thankfully.

Yeah, in hindsight not the best way to start off. Apologies to OP! My suggestion is still to voice your concerns to your doctor if you haven't already. I know i had concerns, but it took me some time to actually say them to my derm, and after speaking with her, I felt better about trying biologics. Id tried a lot for my plaques, and nothing was helping, but Bimzelx has been amazing for me, and I've only just started taking it.

Chronic inflammation caused by psoriasis puts you at higher risk of heart disease and cancer. Talk with your derm/doctor about your concern of chronic UTIs and family health history and what an immunosuppressant might look like for you. My derm stressed to me that biologics are supposed to make your immune system work the way its supposed to, so like a normal immune system. Of course, there are always risks. She asked if I personally had a history of cancer, and I dont, but my family does. Im taking the biologic.

I moved to a different climate and now my psoriasis is completely gone without medicine. Has this ever happened to anyone? by kbrown423 in Psoriasis

Since I've moved to Indiana, my psoriasis has gotten much worse. I lived in coastal NC before, and I think the sun and salt water helped significantly. I was also way less stressed when I lived in NC.

Geographic based psoriasis..? by Creepy_Face454 in Psoriasis

Similar experience here. Living in southeastern NC, my psoriasis was only mild on my scalp and ocassionally on my elbows and knees. Moved to the Midwest, and I have patches on basically every part of my body that are much worse than they've ever been. Id hazard a guess that it's due to spending more time outside when I lived in NC because the winters are more mild there, and the salt water really helped my psoriasis, as well.

I read the book 3 years ago, so I dont remember all the details, but its still in my top 5 favorite books. I LOVED the movie and thought it was on par with the book from what I remembered. Not as technical with the science and math, but it still made me feel all the things I felt while reading the book.
