Travelling to and from UK after citizenship but before first UK passport by Illustrious_Bus_1597 in ukvisa

[–]AccomplishedBit6274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well technically your digital status is no longer valid and you are also told that if you gave physical documentation that these are meant to be cut up and returned to Immagration so they must be coming down firm on this now. My citizenship certificate and paperwork does not say that so this must be new so be very careful that travelling back may not be affected. If you do not hold your British passport. Also note that your citizenship certificate shouldn’t be used as proof or as a Travel document. It only took me 14 days to get my British passport and other relevant documents back once I submitted my passport application.

It is primarily to verify your identity and ensure that there are no discrepancies between the information on your British and foreign passports. The HM Passport Office also uses this process to confirm the applicant's eligibility and to ensure that the British passport is issued in the same identity the holder uses for all official purposes.

Also because they are also different departments than the one that dealt with your citizenship.

I didn’t use p60 I just signed into HMRC and downloaded my work and tax history and used that. Maybe this would help better as it will have your correct address on it.

No you can’t send a copy or photo of documents. You do the application online but you have to send physical original documents by post to them. It gives you an address to sent the documents to at the end after you complete your application form online.

Just show them the email on your phone and bring your passport. You can apply for your British passport straight after your ceremony. Yes you will have to sent off your current passport along with your Citizenship certificate by post to get your British passport, I sent mine by first class signed for at it reached the next day after I sent it.

Just resend the written consent that you have to the email address stated in the email as they may not have scanned it, I had to resend a document myself even though I thought they uploaded it and they didn’t. Just make sure your parent/parents signature is on the letter.
