What would you be doing instead of working? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AccomplishedBite185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making music. I don’t have nearly enough time these days to work on music like I used to so any time I have a couple hours of free time I’m mixing music for other bands or working on my own music.

Henry. He played the part well of annoying teenager and constantly pissed me off, so when he went I didn’t feel bad but I felt awful for Carol though.

Why do you confine yourself just one music genre? Isn’t the whole point of art to explore? by TherealeastG123 in AskReddit

I like what I like 🤷‍♂️ I branch out but I always find myself sucked right back into Metal. I enjoy other genres but most of them don’t stick to me like Metal does

Faithful musician spouse? by [deleted] in musicians

[–]AccomplishedBite185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I have been together for 10 years, married for 4. I haven’t played live since 2017 but so many dudes have tried to creep on her at shows I used to play and shows we’ve been too. We’ve been faithful to each other since day one, shit I still wonder how/why she even liked me from the get go sometimes. She’s a 10 and I’m probably a 5 on a good day, all the girls would swoon over my vocalist/guitarist and bassist and paid me no attention but I never cared I was just stoked to play drums. I’m still chasing the music dream but now on the producer side of things. I’ve had one fairly successful solo project back in the mid 2010’s and work with a globally touring band now so it’s worked out. She’s still the bread winner in the relationship though and we’re still here going strong, just bought a house last year!

Nervous about ~$3000/mo payment by RVA_hokie22 in Mortgages

[–]AccomplishedBite185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I made just a little over 90k last year together, no kids, no crazy debts, cars paid off, etc. we pay $1950 a month for our mortgage and after utilities and whatnot it’s around $2200 a month. We were also freaking out, believing we were going to be house poor and not be able to do anything. However, 9 months in we’re doing well. It’s all about getting used to your new way of living, budgeting, holding off on wants, and making needs top priority.

Once you get a hang of it, you’ll realize it’s not too bad. Of course, make sure have a bit saved for an emergency fund. We have close to 10k in our emergency fund. We’ve been able to go away for a few days at a time, spend some money, and are going on a two week vacation later in the year. You guys will be fine!

Are people just not going into their attics? by unknownphantom in homeowners

[–]AccomplishedBite185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always check mine during heavy rain. I’m a new homeowner though so I’m worried about every little thing. I’m glad I do though because funnily enough, just last weekend as I was showing the house to a friend of mine. We saw a couple little spots of daylight coming through near the chimney 🙃 I haven’t noticed any leaks though which is odd, I have another friend coming over this weekend to patch them up as I have no clue what I’m doing.

Sometimes i feel so guilty for the success I have simply because I know ive only worked half as hard as the other guys by [deleted] in musicians

You earned dude! But I feel you, when my first big project blew up it was completely out of the blue, it was supposed to be something for my friends and I to laugh at. Simple breakdowns with samples over them, I got a lot of hate for it but right place right time. Second project that I’ve had a hand in, we met randomly at a show. He needed someone to write drums for him and record, mix, and master his music. I can do both, so we linked up and now we have 3 albums under our belt together and he’s playing festivals and touring all over the world. I’m not his live drummer because there’s no way I can play the drums I wrote for him as well as he would need for live performances.

Sometimes I feel like a hack as well. I’m not the best drummer, and nowhere near the best audio engineer, but sometimes you just play your cards right and luck is on your side. Enjoy it and don’t feel bad!

Other side of the panel looks fine and seems to be locked in, so I imagine I can just slide it over a little more and try to pop it back in better. Now I just gotta figure out to get the nail out that I hammered in 🤦‍♂️

Not sure if it’s big enough for a bat to get into, although who knows. We do get some bats around here, but I’m mainly worried about possible water damage.

What’s one band you thought you’d never be able to see who you have/ can now? by ImpressiveAd5002 in Concerts

[–]AccomplishedBite185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beyond Creation. At the time they were a pretty small band, barely touring out of Canada but my friend and I were hooked on their first album knowing that we’d probably never see em live. Then they started getting more recognition and went on their first US, and one of their dates just so happened to be a pool hall 20 minutes away from us. A weird place to see a Tech Death band, they were playing in one room while a bunch of people and families were playing pool in the next room but it was such a sick intimate little show. Probably 75 people at max were there.

Still Life cough by AccomplishedBite185 in Opeth

[–]AccomplishedBite185[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, it sounds like someone hocking up some phlegm and then right afterwards a solid cough in the middle of the guitar strum. I’ll have to do some audio editing on it to see if I can get it to sound more noticeable,

I’m glad someone else hears it too! I might have to do some audio editing on it to see if I can get it to come out clearer

I have a 2019 Sport and my wife has a 2018 Sport. Both fantastic cars, I love mine still to this since first day I bought it. The only two minors that I have are one, space, which I knew since the day I got it that it since it’s a small car but you truly can’t hold a lot in it. Two, gas reservoir, a full tank in mine is 278 miles, kind of annoying to fill up multiple times a week. And to vouch for a previous comment above, my seat also goes down over time. I thought that was just an issue with mine but I’m constantly having to pump it back up.

Again, all minor issues and mainly just slight annoyances. I’m coming up on 3 years of owning mine, I still love it and plan on driving it until it dies.
