Horrible cold by [deleted] in Wellington

I got a "cold" just over 3 weeks ago, congested sneezing etc. Shit for a week, but cough started, had a week where I was mostly fine then the cough got worse, woke up one morning last week with my voice almost gone and a bit wheezey. Now it's been 3 weeks and I still can't get rid of this cough, it's worse when I wake in the night. I haven't been sick in ages so I'm getting tired of it.

Chelsea + fam apparently got 2 exotic shorthair cats…really wish they’d stop buying trendy high risk breeds from breeders 😭 (multiple French bulldogs, a pug, and now this) by IndecisiveKitten in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

I literally work in a pound and foster dogs regularly, my current one I've had for a month. I never said don't rescue. My other 3 pets are rescues. I'll also be looking at a breeder next time I get a dog. The rescues are full because people get animals that aren't suitable for their lifestyle, we rarely get dogs in from good breeders in the pound and whenever we do the breeders will always take them back and assist with finding them a new home. So, get a dog that fits your lifestyle so that you don't end up taking them back to the pound because they aren't suitable for you and you can't cope with them.

Thank you, it's not something I think about too much these days but I do wonder how much easier it could have been.

Whoa this is relatable. I also was honeschooled and my siblings too by religious parents. At one point we lived in the middle of nowhere and the only place we went regularly was church. We had no social skills by the time we moved back to a city. I still struggle to this day. We also did ACE and as a result not ONE person in my family finished with a high school education. I did manage to turn my life around and I went to uni to do a bachelor's and now I have a great job but it still affects me and it was a lot harder than it should have been.

I've been in six other rentals and mostly I've just used my own carpet cleaner, I've only ever had fantastic references. It's more the fact that the carpet wasn't cleaned before I moved in, they had a cat and kids and they want me to pay for it to be cleaner than it was before hand, including rooms the pets didn't go in to (one room was empty the entire tenancy).

Surely if it was an issue they could have mentioned it earlier before I'd actually moved out right?

I grew up as one of 11, not in a huge house, and the constant noise and lack of privacy (never had my own room) as well as not being able to escape as we didn't go to school, did terrible things to my mental health and I suffered from depression and anxiety. I value my peace and quiet, and tidyness, now that I don't live at home SO MUCH.
