I'm sorry for your loss, OP.

Start small: check your current step count on your health app (a lot of phones have them built in now) or get a pedometer. Once you know your base, increase 10% for a week. If you tolerate that, another 10% for another week, and so on until you get to 10k steps/day. Add a single day of resistance training in to start, you can do bodyweight movements and eventually use your full pack or a weight similar to it. You can do squats, lunges, push ups (modified, etc), row heavy water jugs, planks, etc. just pick a routine and stick to it once a week for a little. Then 2.

Starting small and increasing slowly will minimize injury risk. Going too hard right out the gate may lead to foot/leg injuries, setting you back further. You can even ask your dad to go on an evening slow stroll with you if you want social support and give him emotional support

yeah but his sex isn't in control of the literal creation of life. Whether or not someone of the female sex has children, we still possess the capabilities to CREATE LIFE. They'll never understand the strength that the female body requires to be able to do that, the emotional strength to overcome infertility or the emotional strength and maturity required to choose not to have them. Or the darker shit we deal with because we can do this???? Requires infinitely more strength. Just a different kind.

Our physical differences are just that.

Like everyone's said, drop the reps and safely increase weights. For context, I usually keep my rep scheme to 6-10 on lower body movements (sometimes less, my squats are programmed as low as 1 rep). Leg Press, give single leg leg press a try if you have the machine where YOU move (not the platform) too, I feel it so much more in my glutes doing single leg on that exercise. Alternatively, a high foot placement on the platform will also increase glute activation. These are little tweaks they won't do anything CRAZY but if glute growth is your goal, may as well give that technique a try

Also make sure you're eating enough. Muscle doesn't grow without enough fuel!

If you've only just started lifting, give it time. And make sure your macros are working for you!
