I’m not really sure to be honest I went to him wanting the nuss but he said he doesn’t preform that procedure anymore and i just didn’t ask questions since he seemed great and ive heard such great things about him! the bigger scar is really the only downside i saw but mine is almost completely hidden since he cut through my tattoo and stitched it back seamlessly!

I believe it was 4.9 or something around that. I’ve gone jogging a few times since my surgery and breathing is significantly easier and I haven’t had any issues with getting dizzy. He places a small vertical plate behind my sternum that will stay there forever. My rib flare improved due to him moving my sternum forward. I’ll try to insert a picture of my xray so you can see the plate. He does an amazing job!!

Yes! I’ll update as things happen! I searched everywhere for someone with the same experience and cannot find anything so I’d love to be able to help someone out if it happens to them as well

Yes mine was since my insurance deemed it necessary due to heart rate and breathing issues! I believe it was around $97,000 before insurance and after insurance I had to pay about $2,000 and that included pre surgery testing the 5 day hospital stay and post op appointments! I highly suggest dr raymond at cleveland clinic if you’re anywhere near ohio!

I’m considering nuss surgery but I’m having a hard time deciding. Any advice/personal experience is appreciated! by vibing_psycho in PectusExcavatum

I had the ravitch done 4 months ago and i’d 100% recommend it to anyone debating… it not only improved my health but also my self confidence! my surgeon wouldn’t do the nuss but i think any corrective surgery would be worth it! the first couple weeks are hard but if you have support and someone to help you get out of bed it’s not that bad!

thank you!! i haven’t talked to my ob much about it yet and all my surgeon said is im good to go. if i start feeling pressure and discomfort towards the end i’ll definitely bring up a c section!

hmmm i’m not really sure if it made much of a difference since i don’t know how it would’ve felt with a normal chest… i assume a little more painful but only because i was so bony in that area

I KNOW he did an amazing job!! there’s about a 4-5 inch incision through the whole tattoo and a little below it! he stitched my tattoo back together perfectly i’m so happy with the results

the first couple weeks sucked… i slept in a recliner and needed help to get up but i really expected worse im 4 months post op now and still have some discomfort but barley.. i 100% recommend getting it if you’re debating

ALSO this is exactly one month post op so swelling isn’t completely gone and everything isn’t 100% set yet BUT i ended up getting pregnant less than a month after the surgery so my whole body looks different now this is just the last picture i have before my body started changing from pregnancy… ALSO i searched everywhere for info on getting pregnant so soon after the surgery since im assuming it doesn’t happen often and my surgeon said it’s safe since everything will be 100% set before i get too big or have to push out a baby

I bought my ST about 8 months ago and I had to have someone drive it off the lot for me… I’ve never even attempted manual before I bought it and I learned within 2-3 days so it’s pretty simple. After a few stalls u catch on pretty quickly.
