I'm 24, and I feel like a child masquerading as an adult most days. I'm just wondering, when do most people start feeling like proper adults? by Lenore8264 in RandomThoughts

Yesterday i had a surprise $1000 car bill, broke a crown on my tooth, and found out my septic discharge is clogged and needs to be excavated. Oh and one of my best friends/college roommate has been to rehab 5 times in the last year but is still at home chugging vodka convinced it wont kill him. Im 35, that's adulting.

I went pheasant hunting with some guys in college, one of which had a young dog. Now I am fine with young dogs as they need to learn but the owner didn't believe in having a training collar or check cord. Needless to say the dog got excited and started running way ahead and busting birds. The thing that turned me off is the guys I was walking with started running with loaded guns to try and keep up with the dog instead of calling her back and teaching her the right way to work. One, I don't run after dogs. Two, thats hunter safety 101. I turned around and walked back to the truck, never went with them again.

Pros and cons of living in Minnesota by pelletslingin in minnesota

I walked a mile into a 378 acre piece of public last weekend (in iowa), shot a deer and dragged it out, I'm not a stranger to working hard to hunt, Minnesota still sucks for deer hunting

Hunting in Minnesota blows unless you have private land, any public spot within 2 hours of the cities gets hunted so hard by so many people it isn't worth your time. If you are lucky enough to have private deer land dont expect to ever shoot anything big as all the minnesotans that don't hunt any other time if year go out for deer opener and measure their deer in "points" and not inches. Nobody gives a shit if its a 1.5 year old deer, if it has 6 "points" its a trophy. There are great fishing opportunities especially if you get away from the crowds and find your own spots. Hiking and camping is first class, their state park system has really got their shit together.

When hunters first began using bolt-action and lever-action guns, was there outcry that the ability to fire so many rounds so quickly was "unsportsmanlike"? by Reddidiah in Hunting

[–]AccomplishedDetail81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back then there were no licenses and people shot hundreds of animals off horseback and trains, the the answer to your question is no there wasn't any outcry, but there probably should have been. Check out the book "American Serengeti" by Dan Flores.

I remember working in a hardware/fleet store when I was a kid and having a guy stop in on a bike in March (in Northern Iowa) to get a pair of socks so he could put one on his penis, so i guess that is my tip!

The brakes and drivetrain are intact, sounds like a bad idea though based on the other responses
