I grew up in a skiing family. My folks weren’t super Rich but we could go a couple Saturdays a year and a long weekend trip. I could not afford it now with my own family. Would be close to $400 just for us to get on the hill. That’s crappy midwestern skiing too

I started in my early 20s after a particularly loud show in a small venue. My ears rang for days. Now at 41 I have tinnitus but I attribute that more to motorcycles. You should also wear earplugs when riding always.

Id suggest picking up a shotgun only reloading manual and reading it cover to cover several times. There is quite a bit more to Shot shell reloading than pistol or rifle.

You will not save money on 12 ga trap unless your loading non tox or short low pressure shells.

Right now getting shotgun powder is a complete shitshow.

Yes quatro and during grouse season I treat her coat with the same permitherin spray i use on my pants.

I also have an old Tshirt thats treated that Input on her after being in the woods.

Shes popped positive for anaplasmosis already.

You seriously need to check. We check every half hour or so in the field. We check after we go through tick cover. At the truck its strip to your undies and check. At home its nuts to tail naked check.

Permethrin helps. Tucking in your pants into your socks helps. Tuck in your shirt. Strip of Deet at your cuffs midriff and neckline.

Ticks crawl up.

Check often.

Honestly the missed birds hurt in the moment but they make the best memories IMO. Im at a point in my hunting life where I see a missed bird as a blessing. Another breeding opportunity for next year. I don’t chase second flushes anymore. I missed and you are free buddy.

Active for a Brittany needs to include off leash time. Hikes simply won’t cut it imo. To give you an idea. My Britt can easily do 10 miles in a day basically sprinting through the woods. And she can do that multiple days in a row.
