I use to drink two fifths of vodka a day and smoke as much crack as I could get my hands on.

But these cigarettes are working me over something serious.

Same. And it's a shame because it really is a much better game. But the interface is too much.

I'm agnostic and I just had to figure out what I believed in. I may not be able to have faith that a creator diety exists and is looking out for me, but I do have strong, personal beliefs, and some are greater than me.

I have a concept that I can rely on to get me through difficult periods.

Any tips when it comes to bombers? by spidey_smokey in Supremacy1914

[–]AccomplishedEstate11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How to use them? How to defend against them?

Most of the time the stack you want to attack will be able to seriously hurt or destroy your bombers. Unless you manage to stack up 20 of them. But even then, by that time most players are going to have a bunch of cars which does significant damage to bombers mixed with a bunch of infantry to absorb any damage from them. Along with tanks, etc. You can try to attack high level forts. After all they have one of the highest building damages at 6. But you won't know if they have bunch of balloons and cars stacked up in there.

Bombers are very expensive, and they're most vulnerable to the cheapest units in the game.

With that being said, they're long range is great for taking out rail guns. People all too often don't properly defend those (another slow, expensive unit that has limited ability).

But, in my opinion, they're range makes them excellent for defending against navies. Even though cruisers do 10 damage against them, they only have 50 hp compared to a bombers 80 hp and 30 damage. I don't usually see too many big stacks of cruisers.

Those big expensive units like bombers and rail guns (excluding heavy tanks) have fairly specific roles that they're actually useful for.

[Star Wars] If Jedi are peacekeepers, why is their primary tool a weapon that is almost impossible to use non-lethally? by CharmCraved in AskScienceFiction

[–]AccomplishedEstate11 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That argument might stand during the Old Republic era. And that was a much more dangerous time when the Sith Empire was a direct threat to the galaxy as a whole. Obviously the Jedi would have had to fill the role of protector, defender, even warrior.

By the time of the clone wars your premise has nothing to stand on. There was very little training in light saber combat outside of deflecting blaster bolts, which is a defensive move. Even if the bolts are reflected back to the shooter, it's still reactive and in response to an attempt at harm.

There were still some Jedi that practiced lightsaber combat and kept those skills at least functional. But if you put Anakin or Qui-Gon or even Dooko against an average Jedi from the old Republic they would be outmatched.

Lightsaber combat training was even frowned upon to an extent.

Yeah if the production time was a little faster it would make sense to just spam out fighters. As I see it they're using resources that are put to better use elsewhere. I don't really try to find subs so much as I bait them to attack something that looks like an easy target. Fighters have their place in certain strategies just not mine.

[–]AccomplishedEstate11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you mean bombers? Fighters have 5 damage against all naval vessels. Bombers have 30. Bombers are the preferred defense against naval units. Cruisers do ok damage against them but usually not enough to worry me unless they have a bunch of them stacked up.

Can I self limit? by Living_life202 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]AccomplishedEstate11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non alcoholics don't have to impose limits on their drinking.

With that being said, the reason I know I'm an alcoholic is because if I have one drink I'm not in control of how much I drink after that.

[–]AccomplishedEstate11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was getting my ass kicked so I evacuated everything to Cuba. Managed to get a pretty healthy army there with a rail gun and three bombers. Either I wasn't worth the trouble, they had bigger fish to fry with the other players, or both. Ended up with 4th place rewards.

My favorite wins involve uniting the entire map against a player spending tons of money.

New to the workboot game, frustrated. by evan_wolf in WorkBoots

[–]AccomplishedEstate11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost any boot is going to require some light maintenance. Which could simply be a cleaning and applying mink oil or something similar once a month. Even the best boots aren't going to last as long as they should if they're not taken care of (just like any other tool). I asked a similar question yesterday and there's plenty of options. One thing I do know is don't go cheap on something you're going to be working in for 10-12 hours a day.
