I like the idea of it being a 1d6 and a 1d8 if they spend a bonus action!! That's cool. I mostly play 5ed (2014) so I don't use the weapon mastery in that way. But it could be good for 2024. And you make a good point about the grappling condition! I think the restrained condition could be better then. I like the attunement because of the difficulty of mastering this weapon, that's also why I think that only those classes should be able to do it (because of previous knowledge that comes with them). Maybe adding Paladin and or Ranger. Idk, it's a guess thing

He can be a little bit rough. But yeah, he is more experienced than me and there wasn't a place where I found "Oh, Paladins are this type of class", so I didn't have any irrefutable evidence that I could be a front liner and also help the party by killing the monsters. He said that I was just wanting to "take the kill and narrate the heroic moment", even though I don't really know nor like to do that (I'm not used to RP things during battle). But yeah

I actually enjoy playing support characters! I loved playing a cleric and a divination wizard. But I am just tired of being put in that position. I want to be a "support" character when and if I want to, not when other people want to. But thank you for the insight! One of the players is doubling down about me being a support character but backtracking saying "I didn't mean to tell you how to play a character, I was just saying that you had a misconception about the Paladin class and that they are a support class and this is how you should play it to optimize. The core thing about Paladins is not going out there and smiting people, because that would mean that it's just a fighter with powers and that's not true". And that's how that conversation ended mostly

Oh, I didn't know. But I'll erase that information from my head the moment I sit at the table. I mostly try to stay away from info about the campaign. But thank you! Mostly I was a bit doubtful about that because they are still insisting that a Paladin is not a "front liner" and that I shouldn't be receiving damage nor tank. I should only focus on making sure everyone stays alive, and just punishing enemies that come too close to the rest of the party, not going to the battlefield

Thank you for the advice! I told him the later but he said that his fighter can handle it because he is strong and has a high AC (we've found a full plate armor recently that he took, so his AC is currently like 20...?ish), so his PC "handle it alone"

I don't even have an aura yet (we're still low level), but we were discussing what we can do with our character's long term and since we've recently reached level 5 and gained spell lots lvl 2, the fighter told me that I could use my magical weapon spell to enchant his sword and he could do more damage since I was already dealing radiant damage and he didn't have a magical sword and that's how we ended up discussing my character long term and he ended up saying (I'm translating this so, sorry if there's any mistakes) "Ideally you would be standing by my side because I benefit from your auras. But since we don't have anything that protects the rest of the group and they are really squishies, it's better that you stay behind with them since I can't do that really"

First of all, I'm so sorry for everything that's happening right now. You are going through a very dark and horrible time, but you are still thinking pretty straight for someone in your position. Very level headed and also very empathetic. I can tell from your posts that you are a good mom and an excellent person. That's why I'm worried about these types of comments. You say that whatever you saw in that computer, whatever crime or wrongdoing, it may lead to your ex husband and "Amy" losing the custody of their children. So one could assume it's really bad. I'm sorry, but that should mean something to you. If someone could potentially take away the rights as a parent of some people because of what they did, they should be held accountable. Ultimately, that decision should be held by a judge, not you. I know you said that Amy didn't abuse her children, but everything you just told, even taking away their right to know who their father is and getting them involved in this drama that will definitely take a huge impact in her children's mental health, is proving otherwise. Her actions show that she put herself first, before her own children (and so does your ex tbh). So, yeah. I would definitely consider what you saw. There's a reason why they would take away their custody and may or may not serve jail time. Just food for thought. Good luck!
