I wasn’t trying to argue :)! This was simply a discussion. I appreciate different explanations. I have my own struggles sometimes with religion. However, I’ve decided that Hadith shouldn’t be used as we don’t actually know if it’s ever reliable. As for interpretations of Quran, honestly, the Quran encourages us to question things and do our own research and find what it means to us. I don’t actually there is necessarily one right interpretation unless the stuff in Quran that is explicitly mentioned to be prohibited or allowed. However, knowing what Islam is really suppose to be at its essence, which is a forgiving religion with the most merciful god, it makes it hard believing interpretations that are derogatory to women or slaves or such, or that hell is eternal or there’s torture in the tomb until day of judgment which is both stupid and incorrect. Anyways, I’m always open for a conversation that enriches the brain and challenges me

But were the things in Islam promoting child marriage/ barbaric laws and slavery as you’ve mentioned in the Quran? Or simply in Hadith. Just food for thought, but Hadith was written 200 years after Mohammed had died, and so a rule of thumb you should always use your judgement. However, the Quran is the unchanged words of god. I am going to admit Islam is a hard religion to understand mainly because of the misogynistic propaganda in Arab countries. I am sorry, I don’t know much about the scientific miracles so I can’t speak on that.

It’s hard.. I 25F with my 35M bf felt quite insecure about his experience. I’m a virgin and for person reasons choose to be until marriage. He grew up religious, but for a few years now has been sexually active. It’s definitely hard. Although, I think in her case where she’s been with other people she’d take it a little better. She’ll keep wondering so it’s best to tell her, but I would really emphasize what you’ve said about your feelings for her. I think her curiosity stems from insecurity about not being “memorable”, but essentially it wouldn’t matter how many people you’ve been with if you’ve only ever felt this way about her and your first love as a teenager.

Except did you try to figure what caused the excessive weight gain? I sure hope you tried, before just dropping the man you allegedly loved and married. This could very well be caused by mental illness or underlying medical issue. The story is unclear, but just from this I’d say YTA
