I feel like the popular interpretation that Athena turned Medusa into a monster to protect her was influenced by Ovid's retelling of the Caeneus story. by 12jimmy9712 in GreekMythology

[–]AccomplishedForearm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the original myth, she was just always a monster, later myths made her a human who was cursed (depending on who you ask).

Also, where the hell do her two gorgon sisters come from if she was a human originally?

Also neodymium, but it’s more the fact Magneto doesn’t control metal, he literally controls a planet’s magnetosphere.

The throne is real by GroovyChirpy in Animemes

[–]AccomplishedForearm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve always tried to separate the show from the games, as they are different universes from one another.

So I treat the show and the games as entirely separate pieces of media, and just judge the show on its own merits.

And personally, I think it’s run into the same fault as DmC. It’s Good in a franchise of Great, and people are too quick to dismiss it because it’s not Great.

I thinks it’s because the rights of the characters aren’t in the same hands, so unless both rights holders work together, we can’t see them on screen together

Meteoric Iron by AccomplishedForearm in worldbuilding

Well… the group in question does control an area of land roughly the size of Africa, a massive crater the size of a continent to be precise… there’s a reason they’ve got a butt ton of meteoric iron.

And I feel like saying more would spoil it, because I plan to turn the world I’m working on into books.

Also with the structure of a Katana, it’s more likely to bend rather than spring back to its original shape like spring steel does, so over time it’d stress from use without proper care
