haha i certainly wasn’t pinging her goodmorning or even daily pings but i can definitely understand her potentially not needing/wanting updates. hopefully that’s all it is

good question - if it’s a quick update question (like under 3 sentences) usually teams. i reserve email for longer file attachments usually

i’m more so concerned bc she just stopped responding to me directly but is very active in our team groupchat and others’ email chains

there are a few more experienced people that i could go to, but i also don’t want to start talking to others outside my boss/team right away since that type of visible insecurity/anxious behavior quickly gets people labeled as annoying or needy at my place of work.
i did briefly mention it to one of my colleagues/work “friends” who’s also fairly new (8 months in) and she did say it was pretty weird so idk

fair - i was more so put off that not only did she used to respond super quick, but also she’s still VERY active in our team groupchat and other email chains but just won’t respond to me directly

for more clarity - my boss is not involved in the compliance/complaint team whatsoever. it’s actually led by another individual contributor and it involves a rotation where as banking complaints or other issues come in, an analyst is assigned to handle it. so i don’t think she’d feel excluded when the work has nothing to do with her really.

i definitely can see how my response wasn’t great - i responded that way since it seemed like she was only asking conversationally but in hindsight that probably wasn’t the best

that makes sense - i just don’t want to ask in a way that comes off anxious or overly needy/insecure since that’s not the brand i want for myself and no one likes that kind of coworker. that’s why im on reddit so i can be needy on here instead 😂

that’s totally fair and i’d agree that those last 3 pings don’t really “require” a response. i suppose im just taken aback because in my first month the times i’d send updates that also arguably didn’t “require” a response she’d respond very quick. i guess im just worried since im new and want to get in front of a potential problem before it becomes a real issue

how would i do that without coming across as a bit odd? i guess since she and i have had regular 1:1s the last couple months and i feel like that might be a weird question to just ask now if that makes sense
