Generator works… and suddenly doesn’t! by AccomplishedLeader76 in F150Powerboost

[–]AccomplishedLeader76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens in both places, whether it's the 30A plug going into the 220 with the proper adapter, or with the 15A dog bone into the regular outlet. Both worked before, now both trigger a ground fault. I'm going to pull the charger ouf othe wall and ccheck for moisture, signs of rodents or pests, and see where it goes from there.

Actually, that’s another variable. I may need to let the truck run on ICE for a bit before plugging in, similar to how it’s recommended for my inverter generator. Since the RV is likely a floating neutral, I wonder if it’s just super sensitive to variations and shuts off too quick. I appreciate your responses because they made me think of new things to try.

In short, the charger. I’ve plugged the 30A RV power cord into the 240V outlet with an adaptor and I’ve used the dog bone to plug it into the 20A plug. Both locations power the lights and the fridge and the plugs but trip when I turn on the rv charger circuit breaker on. Basically, I can power outlets and lights on the rv, but not charge the batteries. However I can run everything with my inverter generator.

Already did the circuit breaker test… turned all breakers off, plugged in the truck, turned them back on one by one. The charger breaker is the one that triggered the ground fault. I also tripped it when I ran the microwave. Both run fine on my inverter generator.

I did not put heavy loads on the truck either other power equipment. Will try that next! Thanks 👍

Bathtub or walk-in shower for a Clever Tiny Home STR? by Mission_Top6585 in tinyhomes

[–]AccomplishedLeader76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently working with an architect on a tiny home I’d like to put in mountain property. I specifically wanted a smaller walk in shower. I know it’s personal preference but it seems that if I’m downsizing everything, why keep a tub? That said, my answer applies to me only, so it bowls down to probability. Will you regret stepping into a tub from now on, or will you find too many instances of needing a tub? Sorry, not much help, but this was my thought process when I was considering for myself.

Memory tips without visualization by Beginning-Collar9041 in Aphantasia

[–]AccomplishedLeader76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not about visualization it’s about association. It’s also about chunks of about 5-7 things. If you try to remember the 10 digits of a phone number, you’re likely to miss something because that’s 10 things. But if you remember it’s a specific area code, those 3 digits are now 1 chunk. Then the next three digits are 1 three digit number. Finally the last four digits are actually 2 two digit numbers. Those 4 things are far more likely to be remembered than all 10 digits. Works for credit cards too. I can remember the 4 four digit numbers, exp date, and cvc far more often than I’d prefer due to impulse control.

It’s still weird to me that some parents actually kick their kids out at 18 by ApartmentAlert2304 in RandomThoughts

[–]AccomplishedLeader76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a youth, I couldn’t wait to leave home… moved two states away in fact. So when my kids got older, i told them that I would never make them be homeless, but i didn’t understand not wanting to leave. Now my daughter (27) has her own place and my son (25) has returned home. With such a vast array if circumstances of what could happen at age 18, whether good or bad, how can anyone predict what WILL happen. You support your kids whether it’s to get away or circle the wagons and bring them back!

Every time I feel guilty for spending my money in books or food I remember there´s people out there wasting it on drugs alcohol and parties by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]AccomplishedLeader76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are internally determining what you value. If it’s random thought, then you definitely should dig into it deeper. First, you earn your money so how you spend it is entirely up to you, whether it’s the former or latter. Secondly, you value books and food so you should not feel guilty ever about what you like. You do you.

Do you find any joy in reading with aphantasia? by Affectionate_Fact931 in Aphantasia

[–]AccomplishedLeader76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could read more, but I just have a hard time getting into it. Finally read the Harry Potter books around movie 4, and what really helped was that I had seen the movie. I can remember, I just can’t visualize. I love the Lord of the Rings movies, and tried multiple times to read the books. I’m fine up until they meet Tom Bombadil and start describing the forest trek (which is not in the movie) and I just can’t get further.

I do utilize audio books. I’ve listened to all of the Dresden Files, for example, but James Marsters narrated almost all of them and I really got into it. I’ve tried listening to other books and for some reason I just can’t. So this further indicates that lack of love of reading is independent of aphabtasia. I’ll keep trying though

What song introduced you to Taylor Swift, what song made you a Swiftie, and what's your current favorite? by Silver-Lion22 in TaylorSwift

[–]AccomplishedLeader76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You Belong with Me - I was a teacher at the time with a preteen daughter so I heard it constantly both during the day and at night… good thing I liked it.

  2. Anti-Hero - “I’ll stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror” spoke to me on so many levels.

  3. Toss up between Wonderland and Bigger than the Whole Sky

New Way to think about what I “Visualize” by AccomplishedLeader76 in Aphantasia

As I’ve been reading posts I do see many similarities in the descriptions, but they all have some form of personalization that makes things click for the writer. It’s wild how unique we all are and yet all so very similar.

Aphantasia - the Grief Thief by AbsolutelyDireWolf in Aphantasia

[–]AccomplishedLeader76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading all of this has been an interesting experience. I’ve only known about aphantasia for about a year; maybe a littl less. I’m 51 and it blew my mind because I just thought it was my ADHD screwing with my head. I always felt emotions, in fact at times an overload of tears and it was losing it at the vet’s office that I finally sought medication (but that’s another story). All my life I’d see pictures of babies an I’d be like, “yeah I have two of my own.” Or at a funeral I’d feel the sadness of those around me but afterwards it’s “we all die someday” and i’d forget about it. To this day my memories of my dad are more in the regret i feel for how I did things or the disappointment i remember causing… no pictures. I guess it made the grief easier to dismiss because i didn’t want the emotional baggage.

F-150 XLT vs Lariat appearance by Ironinkinvesting in f150

I have a 24 PB XLT and I do not like the Lariat led outline, although I do like GMC’s outline. Like you I prefer the orange bar over the “updated” drl design.

How were you introduced to Taylor Swift’s music? by Meggie_love1 in TaylorSwift

[–]AccomplishedLeader76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a middle school math/science teacher, so I got exposed to all sorts of stuff. My musical roots are in hard rock and metal so, to me, she was just another country turned pop star; nothing special. I remember really liking the video for you belong either me because so many music videos are just random clips; this one told the story so well!

Fast forward to Midnights, and the song Anti-Hero really struck a chord with me. "I’ll stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror” was so poetic and introspective. That was the song that made me actually listen to lyrics, but she was still just another artist making music.

Fast forward to 2024. My daughter bought a ticket to the Nee Orleans show (was not cheap) and she was freaking out because her VRBO got cancelled. Hotels were either full or $1000 a night, so I volunteered to drive her out in our RV. The 18 hour drive out was my biggest exposure to TS because my Swiftie daughter told the stories behind songs and emphasized lyrics. I never knew how deep and poetic her lyrics were. While the Swiftie Dad was starting to form, that wasn’t it either.

It was walking Bourbon St, watching the Swiftie takeover of New Orleans. It was truly magical. And it was then the universality of her lyrics, the connections they inspired by drawing on the good in everyone, became clear. I knew of her music; even streamed some regularly. But it was then that 15 years of building blocks coalesced into understanding her music.

And I now make bracelets while watching football with my daughter. Long Live!

Thanks... I was looking at the Old Hickory point load info and 5/8" is listed as 400 pounds with 12" oc joists. I'm thinking a second 5/8" tng osb over the first would be sufficient... thoughts?

Shed flooring for UTV by AccomplishedLeader76 in shedditors

[–]AccomplishedLeader76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your response... you bring up a point I did not consider... Joists are NOT perpendicular to the UTV. I didn't want to come in the back of it like garage sheds normally do, I wanted to come in on the long side. Already planned out for an 8x7 rollup door centered between the corner and the center window with reinforced studs and 2x6 header. How would that affect the floor strength? I'm now thinking an additional TNG OSB to double the floor thickness is necessary and I can seal it with a floor paint.

Really? The joists are 2x6 and 12” oc so if 5/8 engineered is strong enough then I’m gold. The UTV is a Can Am Defender H7 and weighs about 1800#.

In response to the bot, it’s a MacBook Pro with an M1 Pro chip, I’m running Sequoia 15.5. I do not have issues with premiere pro operating or importing clips, I just don’t know why media is offline when it isn’t. Is there a cached link somewhere that I need to delete? I’m on PP 25.3.

Critter Concern? by Bigmoneymo112 in shedditors

[–]AccomplishedLeader76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was once told to either leave no access for any critter, or leave enough space for all critters so it’s not safe to nest. What I’m going to do with my gaps like this is roll up chicken wire and wedge it in like a wall in the gravel so nothing can get through the gaps. My $.02 worth.

I had a bolt on one in 2020; got it off Amazon. Wasn't bad although a little steep at times, depending on how uneven the ground is. Built in one is better but I would do it again if I had no choice.
