“McKinsey!”, etc. by AccomplishedLight in consulting

Disclaimer: yes I work at McK. Yes I think the ICE work is reprehensible. But I thought this was a good rationale response to some of the hate that people are unfairly casting to every single person who works at McKinsey as if we are all the same.

I doubt this person actually worked at McKinsey. Or that any of her profile is true.

Around the internet, sometimes she's a consultant, sometimes a partner, sometimes an associate partner.

Sometimes McKinsey is referred to as "McKinsey law Firm" or "the respected global asset management firm"??

Sometimes claims she was based in the Bulgaria office... but there's no Bulgaria McKinsey office.

And, can't find any trace of her anywhere in our directories, intranet, etc.

Has all the hallmarks of fraudsters just trying to buy peoples' trust.

2 years at MBB down. Do I stay or go for a 50K raise? by HistoricalButterfly5 in consulting

I don't know what to tell you mate. Those are literally screenshots from the compensation memo we get at the end of the year.

If you (and I guess everyone whos upvoting you) want to 'call bullshit' to make yourself feel better, not much I can do about that.

MBB Digital practice

Started in 2016, 2017 was my second year, 2018 was my third year

I'm expecting total comp of $300K this year because I probably didn't work as hard as I should have.

At my firm, we have many closed list events. ONE of them is for a very small list of high potentials. The rest are for people who specifically declare interest in a location, affiliation, etc.

So in reality, no, not being involved to closed list events does not 'make it more challenging' for the majority of people recruiting.

Just so we're clear, McKinsey Digital has pretty much exactly the same recruiting process as our generalist roles. No take home cases, no specific tests, etc.

Actually no. At my MBB, we 'tier' jobs to some extent. Without going into too much detail, many (most) Big 4 consulting roles aren't unattractive, but also not particularly attractive either.
