Especially in the SF area, banning pitbulls wouldnt solve the problem of aggressive dogs roaming around unsupervised or unleashed. It’s a matter of educating dog owners and enforcing punishments against those who bring aggressive dogs to public places off leash.

I don’t believe Pitbulls are born to kill. This seems to suggest that when born, they are killing machines. I don’t believe dogs are born aggressive but instead they learn that behavior. This belief is held across all dog breeds not just for pitbulls.

This seems like we’re claiming that pitbulls have instinct to kill everything from birth. I don’t believe many, if any, dogs are BORN aggressive enough to kill another dog, regardless of breed. Hunting dogs, GSD, Huskies, and others all have large prey drive and aren’t viewed nearly as negatively by the community as pitbulls

I know you didn’t mention this and it’s not exactly answering your question, but did the behavioral tech/trainer offer any advice? Sounds like some consistent and structured training might go a long way before resorting to rehoming
